Agree with all this. I'll hold Riki, and I'll hope Milford dropping is brief. The Niu thing just annoys me. The only other scenario I could come up with today - as unlikely as it seems - is that Arthars has been that amazing in reserve grade that he made himself a must pick? Sounds very unlikely, but I don't understand the Niu dropping otherwise.

Arthurs has played two games. One at fb, and last weekend on the wing.. so er, not sure and doubt it. Stats dont indicate either were big games

Edit doesnt rate a mention in the match report from the weekend..

They are about to get beaten by 40+ Somewhat protecting some of these guys we own, as they won’t be in a big losing side

I knee-jerked out Turpin and really regret it

If you can hold in your 18-21, Milf, RiKi and Niu I recommend doing so for week or 3

Just remember how premium a player like Milf or RiKi could be in R13

Niu not as much but his DPP is very handy.

I’m tempted to drop RiKi immediately, but he’s low lush BE and doesn’t get you much for his money, in a really tricky and premium position this year. A hold until at least the dust settles, Schuster gets his DPP and R13 picture is clearer

Caveat to the above is assuming you can bring in a Crichton and someone into your side to not field 16! Appreciate Riki and Niu are more likely to cause selection headaches than Milf, given abundance of bench-worthy halves

All sound advice but if they can be upgraded to get points now, then I think there's justification to trade. What if you hold and come round 13 they are dropped again? No one knows. Jeb doesn't know what day it is and this could go on all year. I'd like to hold for a week but only 47K to upgrade Milf to Fog is almost too good to pass up. Riki I'm inclined to hold and Niu is just my backup, but tempted to get Hampton for him.

Depending on what happens with the Broncos, Riki (494k, BE 24) to Sitili (529k, BE 66) looks a nice trade next week, even with the bye implications.

Better chance him debuting on the wing over centre. I could be very wrong but can't see it happening this week.

If you are using ownership percentage as a reason to trade a player in then keep in mind that everyone on this site with a bankroll is looking to get Haas in over the next couple of weeks, so that ownership is going to go up (I assume its not just this site that wants him either). Not sure at what ownership level he would become less desirable to you, but its something you might want to keep in mind.

Mostly getting him for his points potential and him playing round 13.

I do see that ownership percentage going up but I think a lot of people will go without him for a couple of weeks and then struggle to get him after he goes huge.

We've seen how hard it's been for the coaches that didn't start with Cleary to try to get him in. Haas could be a similar problem in that regard.

    Just looking at stats

Last round was the highest scoring round ever, with 10812 points scored over 8 games.

    Rounds 3, 4 and 2 were the 5th, 6th and 7th highest ever

Round 1 was way down the list at 15th highest ever

This is almost entirely down to the new turnover stat. Without the ~400 extra points a week from TOs, scores would be a touch down on last year (but still massively high compared to everything prior to round 3, 2020)

So, with 272 players per round, TOs account for an average extra of one and a half points per player, or an extra 25 points per scoring 17.

What does that mean for MNs both now and moving forward?

    Henson Park

Was going to go the Dragons game on Sunday, but dropping $80 on the family to sit in the family section of the hill with no beers while my kids don't actually watch the game isn't appealing. Or over $100 for a seated area with beers but having to trying and contain them in a seated section.

Whereas $30 at Henson at the gate, beer available and an empty hill for the kids to run around on, can bring a footy onto the field at half and full time, just seems more fun.

Last year aside, I normally try and get to 2-3 games there a season, might do a few more this year.

EDIT: didn't realise there were two more pages including a more succinct answer when I responded! As you were.

Great response, send this to the nrl.....

    Essentially, yes.
A touch less because average is 95 TOs per round not the 100 I rounded up to. but close enough

But after 5 rounds, there are 24 players who are averaging 1 TO per game or more
Last year there were 0 players who managed that, based on stats we were provided.

Any ongoing knee issue to be worried about?

Playing with injections through some minorish cartilage damage in his knee. I’d avoid personally. Not sure if the upside is worth the risk

Note - I’ve zero affiliation with this mob, but got some nice prizes last year and slightly addicted!! Minimum buy in is $75 so it’s aimed at semi-serious punters
