Yeah makes sense. Has been mentioned a few times on here but the caliber of the R17 guns isn't great for the run home. Does that worry you? Need to keep a few extra back for some sideways trades post R17?

Wow I cannot believe it is gameday I haven't looked at my team all week. I think I am just too scared to try and find some shitty trades that I talk myself into thinking are good ones that turn out shit and then do it all over again.

I have used too many trades for my liking, on 1 or 2 banked trades. I generally don't go as hard as other on bye weekends since I am primarily a H2H player unless I was in the top 1000 which I am not. Would still like to trade a bit though for those rounds.

Are people playing Turpin in their 17s this week?

It's not possible to have 17 in both bye rounds, so will be aiming for 16 in R17.

I'll make sure that I have the uber guns (Cleary, Haas, Teddy) but I'm very comfortable running home with a squad that looks like this

    Verrills
    Haas, Taumalolo, Tohu
    Schuster, Young
    Cleary, Williams
    Hopa, X
    X, RTS, Teddy

    SST, SJ, ARey, Tevaga
Luke Thompson, Wade Graham, Corey Allen, X

Not ideal and means I need to find a cash out centre+wfb for round 16. Verrills would be first priority for upgrade with WFB 3 also important for the run home if cash+trades allow, but I feel like Taumalolo, Tohu, Young, Williams, RTS, Hopa can all hold their own in their position, with SST, SJ, ARey, Tevaga all capable of big scores on their day

Means I would need to hold Verrills, Schuster, Teddy and Cleary through round 13

Won't be attending this one but would recommend to anyone who will be in the area. Have had a great time at previous meet ups and there are whispers that VK will be in attendance

Decided to forgo a MID this week and just play Stefano. If he can get to 40 I’ll be happy.

MS what are your thoughts on Crichton v Hampton?

Don't like paying for premium centres this time of year and don't like Hampton's job security. I'd grab someone like Hopa/Croker/Parker/May that won't get dropped and can give you 20-25s

I am going to play the death ride Turbo game. If everyone else is grabbing him then I may as well go another way at 7000th ish rank.

Sorry this is for WFB so I can field 17 this week. CTRs currently are Peachey and Roberts with Momo having a wee break from carrying the lads

Turbo if you can afford it is a no brainer. Oates as a cut price option. Ramsey/Staines if you want to gamble on upside

Cheers mate, money isn’t a problem at all this week so can have anyone I want.

Oates is one I’ve thought of a bit. A good start in a tough game last weekend. At 320k I can see some upside if the Broncos really are improving

I'm probably wrong, but I'm not convinced Turbo is a no-brainer.

I think he was a no-brainer to start the year when it was just the one trade to get rid of him if/when he got injured and he was priced at a 36 average.
Now it's an extra trade to get him in, he's priced at a closer to a 41 average - largely due to the MN dropping, and he's never averaged over 49 in his career.

I mean he's probably unlikely to be a bad pick, but unless something is massively different to the last 5 years, there doesn't look like huge upside in balance with the risk and missing R13 (and probably R17)

The only slight problem and I see and it’s not huge is that I’ll have Turbo, Papy, Brimson and Laurie as WFBs in a healthy team. Guess it means I can get rid of Brimson without feeling bad 😂

May is interesting as a cover option, cheaper than most and if he ever got an increased role... Centre and Edge.
