TD: Thompson + Ponga, banking a trade

Crichton would cover WFB this week, then replace Roberts in CTR next week.

Riki and leniu for Simpkin (couldn’t get last week) and Turbo.. 250k to sort something next week with Tino.. Ponga would be nice but Turbo is a nice price

I don't think he's a bad selection, but it won't surprise me if he's just a bit ho-hum.
He's never been one for consistently gaining TBs, which puts him a bit behind other elite fantasy fullbacks.

I'm guessing buyers/owners are expecting an average over 50?

That's what I was saying last week. He needs big plays to score points. If Manly are getting pumped, his scores usually are poor from memory.

Oooffff !

Turbo the kind of player who scores 4 tries and ends on 50

Last week he was like 57 at half time and ended on 67. He gets points for a big play but base is poor and isn’t a tackle buster

Also misses R13 and 17 assuming Origin and his legs are twigs waiting to break

I wouldn’t get him even if he paid me to

Edit: as someone said earlier he’d be an obvious pick to start R1 due to the starting price and only costing 1 trade to get him out - but now it will cost you two and he is not a final 3 WFB (Ted, Papi, Ponga, To’o outlier or RTS for R17 onward)

I’ve gone cold on all the 2nd trade options I had in mind - Turbo, Hampton, Lodge, Verrills. Think I’ll wait a week and watch my rank fall a bit more in the meantime hahaha

So for those off turbo, who do you trade in at similar price?

Yeah Tommy T has always been an explosive type scorer. He'll score 40 points in 5 minutes and then score 10 points in the next 30.

I think it'll hurt in the short term not having him but I think Ponga is the one to aim for long term.

I am not convinced on Turbo either but I gotta trade Latrell and don't have the bank to get someone better. The upside is that it gives me 235K in the bank and so I can get a keeper elsewhere next week (possibly for Egan). Could be a potential Turpin/Verrills trade coming up which will give me more bank. Really want another keeper MID to stop the Stefano/Alvaro lottery every week.

Yeah would obviously prefer KP over Turbo but money is going to be tight this year.. if I can get away with turbo playing out the year (big ask) he’ll be there abouts and let me upgrade other areas.

Trbo's injury history is the only reason not to get him.

Priced at low 40s and averaged high 40s under the old rules. Even if no uptick, he's good value and allows cash to be spent on upgrading a spud to Moses/Haas etc.
