Imagine my disappointment when I opened the forum at 6am this morning and didn't see 6 pages of rant about Souths loosing. I don't know what to do with my Monday now....

Not going pappy to turbo when he was injured has probably cost me 250+ points. Thinking Ill go beans this week and take his price rises to togun Harris for rnd 17. Had my eyes on koro but if the panthers keep pumping teams he won't play 80.
Anyone else think the bookies are hating the new rules ? I seem to be making some bank last few weeks since they were introduced.

Not sure what I was thinking leaving Hynes 101 on the pine and playing S Walker 6.
95 points lost right there. Others not in the 17 were Watson 45 and CHN 60. Dear me. Will just think of the cash generation.
SWalker 6, Starling 31 and May 18 the let downs. Should have spent the $90k on Kelly instead of May.
Managed 1008 despite that. Not sure if I can hold S Walker anymore (3 round average of 24).

I'm just refuting their point this year is bullshit because there's only one captain choice when historically there's always been an obvious choice to captain.
Not to the degree Cleary is this year but still has anybody ever had a great fantasy season playing captain roulette every week.
It was game breaking when Smith averaged 72 and the next closest were Parker, Fensom, Hindmarsh averaging 50 odd with the occasional bigger game. But the reason for that was Smith being the best player in the NRL scoring across every category. It didn't matter if Melbourne blew a team off the park because he was amongst the attacking stats and kicking goals. It didn't matter if Melbourne got run over(lol) because he would bank 50 tackles. We are seeing the same with Cleary in a historically good attacking team
EDIT: I don't think there is a problem with the best player in the best team scoring the most fantasy points

To be honest, Im a bit miffed as to what the (sumo's) issue is here? What is the actual problem - other than him/her not owning Cleary?

Well I haven’t seen anyone WITH Cleary chuck their toys out of the cot.

Genuinely my week is decided by Panthers game and whoever I captained. Meh, I member when everyone said Teddy was a no brainer and anyone who didn't start with him was crazy. I don't think anyone thinks he's a worse player this year so it shows noone is impervious to a drop in scores.Honeysett wrote:My season would have been so much better if I wasn't so stubborn and just picked up Turbo. It's my stubbornness that has cost me being so much higher.
Could replace Turbo with Cleary for a couple people.
Going in to the season I thought Panthers would be less dominant and as a result his scores would come back a bit. Don't think it was dreadful decision making without the benefit of hindsight. Mind you now I just don't have him cause I'm stubborn and too far behind for it to matter.

Well Surmo wanted us to be unhappy about how Cleary's score is making us bad fantasy players since we dont have any other important decisions to make.
Surmo also wanted scoring system to be changed to make Cleary less effective which, funnily enough, would have made other half-backs redundant and Cleary as the only choice.

That is the problem right there. Nothing else.

This is probably the first time I have seen fantasy players having a go at others for not owing a player that they chose not to have. Surmo wasn't the first one this year,

Its a funny old game fantasy isnt it.... Can suck up a lot of your time, and you can feel pretty average if things dont go your way... yet a whole big chunk of it is luck.
In hindsight, not owning Clearly was probably the biggest mistake of the year - however, some perspective is needed. Its not the end of the world and from a fantasy perspective, at the end fo the day you just have to suck it up and learn, and there is always next season. No point cementing yourself in the middle of a circle jerk (unless that is your thing of course - not judging).
On a different note - I dont tend to read the in game comments, but did Schuster get talked about much yesterday? I thought he was outstanding at half (fomr a real life perspective). Not sure its always gonna translate into great fantasy scores but he looks like a cracking half partner for DCE...

He was a bit unlucky in fantasy with the try assists going to Turbo for last pass
He's great to watch, though he might need to learn how to pass when looking

Is it Super Coach that count earlier passes that lead to a try as a try assist? Some of those Schuster setups were worthy of fantasy points I reckon... He did more to set up the try than Trbo huh...

The best attribute of Schuster's is he runs to the line so he can either offload late which opens up ta's & lb's/lba's for other players or he can dummy, take the line on & get tb's or offloads. The fact he's over 100kg also means he rarely gets hurt.

Updates were kind for me as I gained 17 points to 1,018 (Schuster, IPap, Moses & Turbo). This week I think I'll get Hynes but I'm not sure how long he stays as a starter & I'm wondering whether it will be a bit late on getting him.

Thing to remember team, this is just a game. It's fun, a distraction, not life...
