I said Hynes to the Sharks at the fantasy meet up last weekend, everyone just laughed... Sharks are looking for players, I couldnt see at all why they wouldn't make a solid play at him. Absolutely stoked. Hynes to the halves is the plan apparently. I never see the negative in this scenario, id rather have both Kennedy and Hynes as a where do we play them headache over not having one of them.

Only got 11 this week (fucking 18th man rule...) . Could have more but bringing in "guns" like Matto or Mahoney or even Nathan Brown would compromised ability to get Fifita, Papenhuyzen and Taumalolo quickly after byes. All-being-well plan of having 11 in round 17 too, so it'll even out.

Few have gotten lucky with Leilua and Mahoney, but few have been burnt with Brimson/Koroisau/To'o

18th man is particularly unlucky because Koroisau won't even be playing

I reckon still play it straight up with long term in mind

Haas is still going to be a top 3 MID this season. No point wasting 2 trades getting him out and back in again.

I refuse to plan because of opposition. Saved me on the walker 7 v the broncos. Hughes is peak price, can’t see him making money or being worth being in my final 17, at that price I’d want him to be. Mahoney is one grant injury away from getting call up. Borderline final 17 material though. Macca is Macca. And cheese likely to play a bigger role over next few weeks, storm have easy run for next month so more worth the risk in terms of making money, to trade out later.

Currently entertaining the idea of trading him out. Have 18 trades though and it would be the one trade i'd use this week. Probably a bonkers idea but it could pay off if he is rested in round 14/round 18.

It wouldn’t matter would it. Game 2 is stand alone so doesn’t effect NRL and game 3 he would have had a bye anyway?

Pretty much this. Fringe guys like Mahoney/Hunt/Matterson/Bird are absolutely solid trade ins this round. If they get selected for origin they would have missed the game anyway so it's only really backing up that is a concern

Any origin player can be rested in the round after origin though.. middle players probably more likely to get a rest. As long as Grant is fit, then Grant will be the 9. It wouldn't bother me for bringing in Mahoney tbh.

Looking at that, in round 16 we have:
Thursday: Roosters vs Storm (4 day turn around after origin 2)
Friday: Warriors vs Dragons (5 day turn around)
Friday: Panthers vs Eels (5 day turn around).

Goooood chance some origin players get rested for that Thursday game.

Unsure why the NRL would schedule a Storm vs Roosters game 4 days after the standalone origin?


Broncos matches are surprisingly pretty favourable for Haas backing up.

Is Lodge leaving? That would make resting either for or in games less likely. He's only bench for NSW as well.
