That's a decision for future MTB.

I'm not sure, probably leaning to hold. The pic of him back on the training paddock is encouraging, I guess.

If I hold, he'll miss next week. If i trade, he'll play next week.. lol

Decent trades.  I'm thinking Brailey and Alvaro to CHN and either SST or Curran. Unless I need a WFB.

    Haha yeah 100%

Absolutely no idea how to trade this week or who to trade. There’s no consensus on must haves this week it seems.

I'd love to pick up CHN this week but my issue is the guys I want to trade are not quite there yet (or i'm not there yet)

Fog - Most likely but can produce a >60 just as easily as a <40 and probs want to hold green dot until backing up candidates are sorted
Lodge - Has been scoring well and can beat his BE (cover for Haas just in case)
Croker - Still in my team  Very Happy actually scoring well, playing big mins and providing DPP cover at HOK/HLF, R17
Schuster - same same as above
Kolo & Sitili - plan on keeping for R17
Brailey - Was planning to keep for ever so torn

Any insights? I am not sure he is an upgrade on any of these guys with the exception of Lodge who is actually going alright

mrbrownstone wrote:Continuing from the last thread:

    Is CHN a must-have?

Negative BE, R17, and 47% ownership in the top 5,000.

Then again, avgs. by year playing 70+ EDG:

    2017: 42.4
    2018: 37.9
    2019: 45.5
    2020: 25 (1 game)
    2021: 54.8

It's a pretty big jump so far, is that sustainable? I feel like I'm trying to talk myself out of him because I can't see a clear path without selling someone I don't want to, but I also don't want to make the same mistake I did with Turbo.

    I think I'm with you

To make cash, you're going to need to sell him quickly, unless he gets another 80+ soon. Because otherwise he's going to start dropping funds again once the 87 goes out of his average.

He's unlikely to be a good enough scorer for an ideal final 17, although he may give good scores for his price and be a useful 18th man.

You can probably add a few points to his pre-2020 averages to account for 6-again rules, but might not be enough t be useful. If he can maintain mid 50s then he'll do alright, but I think that is a bit of an ask.
Well done to those that got on early, but not sure he is a great play now.

Clearly I asked at a bad time last night so what does everything think of the trades Leniu and Stefano to CHN and Jones?

Yeah I’ve got no one that I really really need to trade out this week. Especially with all the unknowns.

If Cleary is in then I will have 3 red dots so can handle Haas or Tino being out, just not Teddy

Now that the gamebreaking captain Cleary bug that guarantees winning has been temporarily patched, it will be interesting to see what new bug pops up.

Not sure what the point of Jones is the week after his bye

Potentially you'll get 3 games out of him before Frizell is back. As a cash out who might fill in a bit to cover resting origin players he might do OK.
But might struggle to make enough cash to sell, and doesn't play in the remainign biye round.

Yeah, it feels dirty trading him in now.

Sam Walker is definitely going to play this week right?

With Cleary (presumably) and Schuster out I actually need him in the halves

Struggling to make this decision. If you take the outlier of 87 out of that average and it drops to 48, which is close to what he's priced at. He will obviously go up in price, but for how long?

With this knowledge, the question is whether you are happy bringing him in as a keeper and having him providing cover in the 18/19 spot?

I feel like if you’re going to take the 87 out as an outlier, then you need to take the 30 with (from memory) 20 demerits out too.

Imo his 54.8 is sustainable. With the new rules & speed of the game the ball is being spread wider more than in previous years when it was usually mostly through the middle & all the edge forwards are scoring more points. Up to round 12 the top scoring middle was JFH who was 14th & there are 5 edge forwards outscoring him in IPap, Fifita, Frizell, Harris & TPJ.

If I do Alvaro to SST it leaves me 4K spare and 13 trades and this:

    Would give me:

    Brailey
    Watson Haas SST
    CHN Angus
    Moses Kelly
    S. Crichton Bird
    Teddy Tommy T Laurie

    Macca Hynes TPJ Peachey
    Roberts Cleary Schuster Walsh

    Thoughts?

I still worry that selling Brailey has too much potential to be a negative POD play. Still 99% ownership in the top 5,000 and only 0.87% have sold him so far.

Even given recent form he's 4.2 points clear of the next best averaging hooker (excluding the injured Mahoney) and has the 6th best average in the game (excluding Keary and BMoz).
