I wonder what the highest BE ever has been. That would have to be close.

The highest BE could well come from someone who has put up a streak of single digit / low scores.
Although they can never go below $228k on the app, their background price can keep dropping. and their official BE represents the score required to get them up to $229k, which could represent something like a $50/60k price rise.
MTB and myself don't cater for background price dropping below $228k, so you'd only see this in official BEs, not in our dodgy stuff.

The first year of fanhub, players BEs would go up, even if they missed a week due to injury suspension. Andrew Fifita was a notable example as a popular gun who missed some time and saw his BE keep rising. Don't remember how high it got, but that part of BE calcs was only around for 1 season anyway.

Is Hetherington still the best cashout? Seems like a safe 30-40 which isn't bad for a 19th/20th man.

I'd like to grab Murray + Haas this week, but I think the smarter play is Fog + Tohu to Haas + Hetherington.

I'll need 640k at current prices to straight swap Lucy to Cleary. Those trades get me to 574k bank + the 66k gap between Ponga and Hynes, which hopefully widens a bit this week to give a little leeway. If that doesn't quite work out then one of SJ/Watson can be sacrificed instead.

That would leave me with 3 trades and this squad:

    Macca
    Haas iPap Lolo
    DiFi Crichton
    Cleary Moses
    Avo Burton
    Teddy Ponga Walsh

    SJ Matto AFB Schuster

    Watson Verrills Hetherington Schoupp

Would like a better 19th man ideally, but that would be an 18 that I'm comfortable with + three ~30 point scorers that provide good positional cover. Can't see another path to getting Cleary back.

Hookers are Hunt, Brailey, Watson and Verrils at the moment. If I get rid of Brailey then only Watson is a viable backup - so that might just save Brailey here.

    What's everyone doing about SJ?

edit: didn't see the post above.

I'm thinking I might get rid of him this week to minimise cash losses, and use Harris or Fog to bring Cleary back in.

Hoping Moylan is back soon and he can go back to dominating. Not sure why he hasn't been taking goals either, must be a niggling injury. Hoping that game was a one-off as he was killing it before it

I'm running with Macca, Watson and Verrills. I reckon Watson is a perfectly viable backup, he'd be 7th among hookers this year by average. Don't think too many would be running with 3 viable starting hookers this year tbh so Hunt, Watson, and Verrills should be fine.

I'm probably going with 2 low ownership players in stead of emptying my bank on him. Just makes for uncomfortable viewing

Famous last words, but I think Ponga will be better value. 92 BE this week and should drop to ~650k.

Ideally Hynes gets one more week, Ponga drops a bit more cash, and then pick him up for this run home: Raiders, Broncos, Sharks, Bulldogs, Titans, Broncos.

I know match ups aren't everything, but with the Knights fighting for the top 8 and half of his games against the bottom two teams - plus the Titans who love to leak points - surely odds on he goes massive at least once.

Problem is, is that they have a few games he could easily banner up in during the run home. I like To'o as a cheap alternate though.

Sticking with Mitchell. Hoping he has a purple patch and can match Tommy

Might get Ponga if the opportunity arises.

Teddy, Hynes, Mitchell, Walsh and Pappy* currently as WFBs

I don't play this game to hide behind the couch. Dropping 2 of my last 5 trades on Tohu > Murray and Fogarty > Turbo to leave fuck all in the bank.

Leaves a team of the following and 3 trades for injuries:

    Macca
    Angus Haas iPap
    Fifita Schuster
    Johnson Moses
    Bird Averillo
    Teddy Turbo Walsh

    Murray Brailey Drinky Hynes
    Tupouniua Koloa Verrills Talau

May need to save one trade to move on Hynes should he be replaced

lol, pretty much. Would need 2 trades myself though. I'll ponder.

Has there been any analysis done on "matchups aren't everything"? Not trying to call you out, just heard the sentiment echoed a bit and with the season coming to an end there is more variance in the matchups vs the start of the season.

I would imagine for forwards HOK and MIDs matchups don't matter much, and EDG only slightly more.

I feel like for backs especially WFB/CTR matchups are pretty key, HLF slightly less so with base kick metres / goal kicking coming into the equation more.

Not sure tbh, will need two trades to get it done. Annoying that 2k short of fog to turbo in one trade.
