I've made a mistake with looping as a strategy - I wont be awake for team news etc. I'll just bring in another goalie I think so I can rest easy.

An enormous thanks to whoever it was that told me about the VC loop! Fernandez’s 76 looks very nice! 8/151. Can you now let me know what happens as my back up keeper (Forster) didn’t play but Bachmann scored 0. I don’t get his score because it was less than 1, but do I get another player’s score or do I only get 10 players this week? Thanks all! 8/74 in FPL too, so it’s been a pretty good Wk1. Very annoyed Jota got replaced at 60 minutes, only for his replacement to score a sitter 2 minutes later! Goid luck all! Just Inside the top 1.5 million, how many people play this game?

It is the problem with looping. Often games are on at the same time, so even if you are awake at 2am there's not even a chance to swap captaincy over.

Was fine last night as Man U were the early game., and was clear at half time the loop was on.

I had Leicester defender Bertrand in my initial team, when he wasn't named I made a rush decision to swap him for Ashley Young. What I should have done was stick with Leicester and get Pereira.
Also made a last minute swap of Havertz to Demarai Gray.
Had to rush trades in at 11:45am when I looked at final teams, so perhaps not the best possible trades, but better than picking non players

On goalkeepers, you'll play with 10 this week. But the net result is the same as if you'd just started Bachman and got his 0 added directly.

Bachman won't sub in as he didn't get a positive score.

Naming Foster the right move though. If Watford had conceded another, Bachman would have gone negative, and as AE you'd manage to avoid that. If you started him you'd have been forced to accept that.
Any positive score from Bachman would have come your way

Captained Fernandes but didn't play Amartey or Armstrong, still gud start for 80 with 4 to play. Thank God u can't loop captains n Epl fantasy. Pick and stick.

I can safely stop worrying about the NRL Fantasy now. CHN, Turbo, and Averillo all gone this week! It was fun while it lasted. Got up to the mid 600’s before it all went to hell! At least the EPL has started!

I won the virtual sports comp in about 2010 I think it was.

All the articles saying Son essential, yet Kane back any day now right.
I'm not feeling the Lukaku love at all, but it could prove a big yes or no point already.

I find FPL community to be very reactionary

Son scored last week so he is essential. Mane, Sterling, De Bruyne didn't so get them out

Similar strategy to outside backs in NRL I reckon. You want to get them in before they score a load of attacking stats not after

Lukaku has some very nice fixtures in a few weeks but I think I'd rather Kane at Man City

I feel its all about content with FPL. There's no clicks in saying "you've spent weeks finessing your team so there's no reason to change it after 1 week where everyone had the role you expected".

Instead it's: YOU MUST HAVE X, Y, Z.

It's a very cynical community IMO, where the best players are either literally saying nothing or just saying nothing of consequence - i.e. saying exactly the same as everyone else - then occasionally doing something different for their own benefit.

I got the spreadsheet for break evens from Milch, before the end of the day I'll post it up

I had a look at ffgeek, they have individuals that post their teams and talk their reasoning through their picks. Regarding son, they said he's a gun with and without kane, which convinced me to down grade TAA to Tsi and bring Son in for my round 1 team.

Pogba is the one i think is very much flavour of the week.

But that's it, the very core of epl fantasy is just not that exciting as other sports, Son can and will score loads of 2 and 3's which will guarantee most trade him out for the flavour of the week. But it is the same of the best players, they regularly knock out low scores, you have to decide which ones to ride and which ones to trade out. Bit of a ramble here, hard to say what I mean.

There is about 10 awesome week 2 choice midfielder, 6 or 7 of which will probably get a 2 in week 2, then an 11 in week 3. It always feels so random.

I just recall Lukaku ok or one of many other good picks when he was last in epl, now he has smashed some goals for Milan against a host of shite teams in the Italia he is about to go huge for Chelsea.

Kane hasnt moved yet has he ?
