Re: NRLFF Survivor Season 2
Our team was mostly assembled by calculating the Point Per Run Meter (PPRM) for each player, our pool of players comprised mostly of those with the best rates.
The top 3 EDG players on our list were:
1. CHN = 0.80 pprm
2. Capewell = 0.71 pprm
3. Tuilagi = 0.58 pprm
We assumed Young with a 0.59 pprm was unavailable and did not consider him as a possible inclusion. The Cheese tribe was put on uneven footing when the decision was made to allow Carty to play Hudson Young, who has one of the top PPRM ratings.
We choose to play CHN & Tuilagi, as Capewell seemed to struggle for form. Young would have definitely been on our radar.

Round 8 Challenge
This is another team challenge. You must pick a team of 13 players (regular fantasy positions) and 1 reserve for each position (you know the drill) that you think will score the most demerit points (missed tackles, sin bins, penalties...).
The the tribe with the most demerit points wins.
Demerit points have the same value as they do in fantasy (eg. a missed tackle is 2, a sin bin is 5)
No restrictions on players you can pick
The final submission before kickoff on Thursday will be the submission used.
This isn't a challenge I would like to lose.
Outwit, Outlast, Outplay

Young was not in the original team that Carty selected.Chewie wrote:Our team was mostly assembled by calculating the Point Per Run Meter (PPRM) for each player, our pool of players comprised mostly of those with the best rates.

When Whitehead was officially ruled out and it was stated that Young was his replacement, we changed our team and put Young in. I can’t recall who was originally in but it needed a bit of shuffling.
It was done with the belief that Young, being named in 18, moved into the 17 when Whitehead was ruled out.

So it was done knowing full well he wouldn't be in the 17 on Thursday, as was the rules.
This is the rule
All 13 starting players picked must be in the 17 as of the submission deadline at the start of the Thursday game.
Not "hope he gets pulled into the 17 when he plays on Sunday". In the 17, on Thursday.
One team followed the rules.
One didn't and got to do what they want anyway.

We should have just picked Cleary, not eligible but it wouldn't have mattered.

No, not at all.Regulator wrote:

He was originally named at 18.
Whitehead is ruled out before the deadline.
That means Young is then in the 17 (18 less 1 is 17)

That's not how the 17 works though is it. 18 doesn't automatically just slide in when one of the 17 are out.
On Thursday, was he named in the 17?
The answer is no. As you know. You made an educated calculation that he would be, but that wasn't the rules.
So he was never eligible.
So your win is tainted. Of course you'll all happily be like "let's move on" when you won with an ineligible team lol.

I guess it depends how you look at it.Regulator wrote:

Do you have a captains challenge you could use?

Who said it was ineligible though? It went to the bunker and was called in. We don't always like the bunker decisions, but it is what it is. Build a bridge etc etc

I look at it as
Players must be named in the 17 on Thursday.
He wasn't.

Literally the rules outlined to everyone lol?
But y'all chose to ignore those rules, and then get told oh that's OK.
Meanwhile, we never could have picked him, because we followed the rules.
Super fair.
Will be sure to point out the "build a bridge" about bunker decisions for your inevitable Warriors refereeing complaints though.

I was simply trying to outline our rationale for picking him.Regulator wrote:

We deemed it that he was eligible, as did FS.
There was no gloating.
You have a different viewpoint.
I’m comfortable with his selection.
I won’t try to justify it any further.

Who gives a fuck, the boss said Carty is safe and Cheese off to tribal. I think that tells Cheese all they need to know.
