Yep, that's one thing I love about this kind of uncertainty. He will remain a POD, and be $600-650k if selected ahead of Nikora when Graham returns. Looking for him to be this seasons Ipap that many miss, as he continues to get opportunities.

Can see others grabbing Arrow and Cape well instead for not much more, who have more certainty around their role and also scored well.

They havn't added his 4 offloads that went to hand, so he is actually on 49. Its still only a 4 point bump though, he needs to be finding 55 to be of value.
I am more worried about the 44 minutes played, he looked sweet for 55 mins but Ricky pulled him back off with 10 to go and that is concerning.
I will give him another week or so, Tapine only needs those minutes, and he will still hit around 50 and make meagre price gains.

Capt. Haas also had 4 to hand offloads bounce I am wondering how many players will rip their team apart to get him in after 1 round. Anyone running him and DFifi are giggling Basketball

Agree on Katoa. He was in my team right up until the final team, got Dfi and Nanai in.

Only concern with Katoa ia Aitken is IMO ahead of him in the pecking order and Curran moves onto the other edge when he returns with Tohu lock.

Sure he's "trained the house down" with SJ all off season, however what else was he going to try? Train with the backs? He wasn't in, or around the first team overly much last year and I still think he won't lock the spot down when the Wowo's are back at full strength..

Coaches seem to prefer Aitken in the 2nd row from all commentary we;ve heard

Im aware of all the risks. If he doesnt play well it doesnt matter really, he will be a trade out anyway.

If he plays well then he keeps the spot.

In fact, looking into it- with 10 minutes to go and the game on the line, Ricky subbed off both his starting props and lock

Yeah, that was the thing that swayed me ultimately away from him - he's just too much a fixit for that backline.

Also suspect he's a slow gain to an awkward average - not a bad selection (has been in and out of my team all preseason), but would be amazed if he ends up being a great one.

I have Fermor & it's more the expectation of him reaching the next level because he will play 80 mins on the edge, he is super fit, has been winning all the fitness tests in pre season training & he has been working hard on defense which has let him down in the past. All of this projects positive karma & with 80 mins he should hit 50 imo. Proctor is on the bench but he is there to spell the middles not Fifita or Fermor (confirmed by coach). Sure he could move into the backline if there's an injury but you could say the same for Aitken, Bird or any other backrower for any team that has a backline injury during a game.

    Just to sum things up...

I firmly believe Warriors are finals bound this year, on paper, it's a very good squad. It depends how much they want it.

I want us to win this afternoon/evening, but I'm not entirely sure how we are going to go. Remember we didn't get to play the 2nd trial. I was actually wondering if NRL were gonna flip the draw a bit so Warriors/Titans played each other in Round 1 so it's "fair", rather than round 2. But not the end of the world.

In all honestly, not expecting to SJ to come bust out a 100 today, but if he ahs a good game, 50+ is on the cards for sure, he has a high ceiling. Warriors will be better next week with Walsh & Lodge (I think?) coming back, Walsh especially for SJ. They are going to tear teams to shreds, AFB/Lodge/Pene/Bunty going to give us big go forward, something Warriors haven't really had for a while.

Throw in Curran who had a banger of 2022. Katoa can hopefully get back to 2020 version.

Warriors/SJ going to be scoring lots of points this year, wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't start for another week or two though.

What happened to your rule (i think it was 4) never own a Warrior player? That was you that said that right? jocolor

Anyway mate hope it goes well, I have stuck with Fermor over Katoa, we will see how it goes.

If he’s an out next week thanks to being an antivaxxer, it might make dropping him for Starling (pending Hodgson prognosis) too appealing to ignore

He will update to 49. Had 4 completed offloads. All I cared about was his minutes. Was so pissed off when he was subbed off with 10 to go. Thought he was on for 54 minutes, especially with the in game injury to Hodgson.

Based on what we have seen so far, if Cleary was back round 2, I would likely trade Tapine and Walker to him

It’s ok mate we were shit anyway I wasn’t angry at that it was when Cook made a good run and Klein said he was tackled when he wasn’t that pissed me off and when Taane Milne was taken off the ball that’s always a penalty it irked me a little bit. Still the better team won.

Nikora was poor last year (especially his defence) and on the outer, apparently has been speaking to other clubs too
New coach gets a month or 2 to see both of their form and choose, hardly locked in
Like any new management you don't do a complete shakeup when taking over but that is long enough to make any decision when the time comes

If you are scoring its 1 nil to Wilton so far

I would play Teig over Nikora every time as coach, and I think Nikora could play well as a CTR/Edge cover off the bench when Graham returns, Although Graham's long term prospects with HIA and injuries could leave Teig in a good spot.

Teig was just a little too overs to start for me, I'll probably regret not getting him in, but them's the breaks.
