Jumping Marlin wrote:Here's a summary of cashcows that people have talked about buying this week.  I had a look at what they need to score to make the mystical $150k profit figure.  I've put the summary in the table below.

I also had a look at how much their price grows and how quickly it grows based on an assumed score each week going forward.
    For example:
    > if Ming scores 35 every week going forward his price will ultimately increase by $136k.  But $114k of that happens in the next 3 weeks.
    > By contrast, if Startling scores 45 every week he will ultimately go up $172k.  But only $77k in the first 3 weeks.

For this purpose, I used a magic number of 13,500.  This is lower than the current magic number (I think Milchcow said it was just shy of 13,900), but usually the magic number falls pretty quickly early in the season. So I figured this lower MN may be more reasonable for forward looking calcs.

Isn't he the 16 year old that signed with Manly for big money?

Leaning towards ditching Angus for Starling this week, don’t love the bench start or the low 40s in 80.

My feeling is, of my underperforming guns, Mahoney has the best chance of actually picking up his scoring and fallen gun Lolo can have another week. I can hold the money for a week or so and upgrade either to a reliable skipper if they fail again.

Also Russell for Leo….why the fuck not (mad jack can wait a week)

TU: Angus & Billy Smith to Sexton & Leo. Next week I would do Tuilagi to Starling

TD: Tuilagi & Bullemor to Starling & Leo.

Nah Latu is the one who signed for big money (he's a five eighth)

Sione is a prop who's like 4 years older than Latu

Just crunched some numbers and worked out I can do Tuilagi + Bully > L. Thomson + Starling.
means I can keep Lolo & Watto for Cleary purchase when required.
I'm thinking this may be the way to go - I hate selling a good player, but Tui & Bully seem pretty much spent to me.

Yep, done deal. Believe it's a top 30 spot too.

Have watched latu carve up some of my junior knights teams up close. Physically gifted at a young age, good feet, a class above in juniors. Will be interesting to watch his progression

Did you know Jack Hetherington has averaged 75minutes over the past 2 weeks and only 1 penalty

Thats crazy low PPM (Penalty per minute)

Sure it was a sin bin but you can't get penalised when you aren't on the field
    Think about it

Why is everyone selling Tuilagi? Isn't he out injured for one game. Looks like a solid cash generator?

Are people jumping the gun on tuilagi and trading him out more to due circumstance and keenness rather than him not performing well. 38 in 70 game 1, HIA effected games 2 where tigers made 17 errors (yes you read that right, 17)

We always think trades need to make 100-150k. But in theory they need to make that much more than what tui will make in this instance. Starting second rower who has shown an ability to find the try line. I’m tempted to shift him to starling but clear thinking off season me said he would not rush trades this year unless he was more certain of the advantages

He’s looking into having a partial meniscectomy. Quick recovery but 3 weeks minimum and I’d guess 4

We have had other times where a player sits out a game for HIA, which turns into 6 weeks out. His cash generation stalled with the low score and there are other cows coming through and mid rangers getting good roles. Need to trade someone out if you have a target to bring in. For me it generates enough cash that I could trade out 2 mid rangers that are underperforming, for Cleary next week.

I reckon Garner and Tuilagi are 50/50 to start over each other this year regardless of the HIA this week. Bully more than likely loses his starting spot in the next few weeks.

Holding until at least TLT next week…if he starts he stays (my motto this year….it’s going shithouse so far, thanks for asking)

Helpful thanks. Any word on how highly regarded Mat Croker is? Can he keep Sue out of the team for a few weeks until Klemmer is back?

I think people are looking for an excuse not to watch Wests games, and fair enough. But for me he's definitely a hold until we see what happens between him and Garner next week.

My thoughts too re Garner and Kelma. Also need to remember Garner missed some preseason and trials due to Injury.
