Did you need someone to take control of your team or something?

I feel like holding Bullemor and removing Tuilagi is one of those decisions that will haunt me this season.

Did it to avoid playing Ilias... who scored 15 more than Bully. But even if he hadn't, Tuilagi always seemed a better option beyond this week.

Will delete this post if Tuilagi is on the bench at 4pm.

Yup. I still don't understand why they sold Fog and rushed to move their best spine player out of his best position to accommodate an undersized rookie fullback.

I did the same mate, no regrets as I am not sure I want any Tigers near my team however Bully goes this week.

I think the Fogarty decision was made to accomodate Sexton as a genuine 7 for much cheaper. So far Sexton is looking very capable of being a first grade quality halfback they just need a good 6 next to him.

I think it came down to Campbell at 1 with Brimson at 6 rather than going to market for a 6 and leaving Brimson at 1

Would assume Schuster and Haumole are their preferred edges? Probably means Davey has very little time to be useful

Brimson loves the contact, don't see how a nrl FB would survive without it

Yeah I imagine that was probably the thinking, but not sure there's any reason they couldn't have played Fog/Sexton as their halves? Too samey maybe? Or was it just cap pressure? But probably couldn't have hurt Sexton to learn from an older head, even if just for a season. To my mind, if they could afford it, Brimson/Sexton/Fog looks stronger than what they're putting out now.

I think it's partly cap pressure and partly play style

Fogarty was picked out of reserve grade and only made it through 2 years after becoming an established player. Contract can't have been much over 100k for a career reserve grader. After establishing himself would have been looking for an upgraded deal. I'd be surprised if he was on less than 400k at Canberra. Sexton comes in as a promising rookie probably making not much more than Fogarty was (100-200k). While Fogarty was contracted for 1 more year, if they believe Sexton is the long term option is makes sense to use that cap space more effectively elsewhere

Both being genuine halfbacks it probably wouldn't have worked too well on the field. Would look a little like Pearce/Reynolds or Pearce/Hodkinson in origin a few years back, although granted with a few more training sessions. You normally just end up with one half looking lost and not being a real threat to defenses

No doubt Brimson is a fullback so you are probably better off going to market for a 6 that was out of favour or uncontracted like Drinkwater, Hastings, Metcalf

Yeah were they getting paid on a per-word basis?! Bizarre.

Hopefully it means Johnson and Vailea are back this week, at least named in the 21?
