It was like the ref half blew his whistle and changed his mind. Eels stopped for a sec and then panicked in their confusion, leading to the loose ball and try. Felt like a big ref error robbing us of the only chance of ever witnessing a 2-1 scoreline. I was gutted by the ending and I support the Dragons!

Yeah Norths won two tryless games 7-2 and 9-2 in 1993 was what I found. Same year they went from 5m to 8m then eventually 10m defensive lines.

If there was one game he should have come up big, against clearly the worst side in the comp on a dry track and on the preferred side that Fermor has been playing so well on. Not sure what we would be hoping for from him in other weeks.

If Grant gets 80 minutes, its an easy decision to swap them in 1 trade.

Yeah as per my edit - I was there for that one in the torrential rain. I remember it also being freezing. Not a lot of noise out of the South stand which was pretty unusual.
Storm actually played really well that day considering all the names they had out.

I didn’t either, Just found it in the google spiral on this. 1993 they had an 8m for half a season, then went to 10m middle of the year lol. Classic rugby league rule changes.

That plus I think unlimited interchange came in around the same time.

Two huge changes that explain why it was the last year with a tryless game. Although there was a tryless origin in 1995

I'm doing Bird to May because 39 with at least 12pt try and doesn't play first bye. Aitken does and 4th best average CTR played more than 1 game. I don't think Jones is a must buy first game up. Don't like this at all
