Confirmed - Shaun Johnson will start for @NZWarriors against Broncos on Saturday.

Chanel H-T will start beside him.

Kodi Nikorima will play from the bench.

Centre Rocco Berry is out, after picking up a virus during the week.

    @nzheraldsport @NRLcom

Based on our squad, looks like Berry out would mean Pompey or Montoya into the centres and in comes Kosi or Ratuva.
Would love to see Ratuva in first grade. Feels like it's been a long time coming.

Actually, they could totally throw Murchie'Aitken into the centres too. That seems like a Nathan Brown move. Let's do that.

    PLAYER NAME COUNT

    3. Brad Schneider 1986
    4. Max King 1970
    5. Payne Haas 1958
    6. Izack Tago 1939
    7. Stephen Crichton 1934

After that number 8 on the list is Papy at 1788, so falls off steeply.

    https://www.footystatistics.com/ownership.php

You can pretty much gauge how your season is going by how many of them are in your team. I have 5 of them, with rank 11k after round 3, (missing Haas and Tago).

I started with all of them. Got lucky with Haas, I thought Fifita was a sound selection, but with value at edge and difficulty at mid I spent up on mid and dodged the Fifita bullet.

Not really...would rather save a trade then switch Lolo out only to find Cotter/Smith steals half their minutes and they all end up sitting around the same price come bye time

Yeah, not sure about people trading Lolo to Gilbert or Cotter. We arent sure yet where all the minutes land when everyone is available and fully fit. Even then it likely changes week to week. If you dont need a mid, maybe Jones is the option instead.

Would love for him to get it but I'm not surprised he didn't, I am guessing technically the Tigers player defused the kick first and then lost possession from the tackle, so the try wasn't directly from the kick?

I don't see how he get's an assist in fantasy after Madden touched it and made ball live. I want scoring to be consistent as possible.

I'm playing Leo and Ming emg because of doubt and late game. I think they can score similar anyway

Ah yep fair call. I thought players got the assist for tries scored off dropped bombs and that it might fall under the same category.

You've convinced me to hold Lolo and the trade and just take the slight hit.

Wasn't confident on either Gilbert or Jing and it feels a forced trade chasing short term gains.

Actually if Aitken was going to play in the centres this could be the week to do it - gets to defend against Staggs. Much rather him have that job than Montoya.

I wouldn't advocate for poor trades, and there's been some fairly out there proposed trades, but start of the season is not the time to save trades in my opinion. You need to fix your mistakes, and grab the cows you missed. You really need every player working for you. I've banked two so far, but I might not have banked any if there were better cows to choose from. Once you've got your team scoring well and making money after 4-6 weeks is when I want to typically start banking some, and in the lead up to origin as well. Let's not forget, we actually get more trades this year than last year.

So yeah, don't make bad trades, if you can't make good ones, bank them for sure, but I'm not looking to save trades at the start of a season, I often max trade the first few weeks, to get the team humming. My two cents.

Great comment, last year I saved hella trades because my starting team was pretty decent and there were no holes, but I was also losing points to the people above me who were making upgrades, and then when I started to make my charge I got smashed by injuries. Obviously rotten luck but you don't achieve too much by sitting back and being overly passive in fantasy.

Just trade smart is my motto this year, I'm considering getting it tattooed on my wrist because it's fucking working so far.

Haha don't tell me that.... atleast Lolo has a 33% chance of busting the 70 out right?

Jing is a plodder, 40 is a good score for him.

Gilbert makes bugger all attacking stats i.e TB's, OF's, so Lolo's turn to step in.

Inb4 Roosters are up by 30 at halftime and Lolo doesn't come back on haha

StormTrooper96 wrote:Well, I guess I know how I will get Cleary in next week.

Sorry to bring everyones mood back down by talking about last nights game but I think one of the major problems with Fifita is he is standing in line with the half 9/10 he is catching the ball, and by the time he receives the ball the defence are pretty much tackling him. I would much rather tackle a 115kg wall of muscle that is standing still compared to a 115kg wall of muscle that is running at me at 30km/hr.

Just so weird that professional athletes do not see this, unless, it is Fifita himself doing this because he cbf moving.

On that note, I remember early in the game I think it was Brimson who threw a cut out to Kelly, who then made a break. Now instead of Fifita running in support for the eventual offload, he decided because he didn't get the ball so he would just stand still and watch the play unfold, possibly so if they ended up scoring he didn't have as far to run back for the kick off. Kelly eventually got an arm free, threw an offload that Brimson overran and I think it was a turn over, or just loss of momentum. This is the laziness shit we are all hashing on about.

It kind of reminds me of tony Williams when he left manly and played for the dogs. Foran would tell him where to stand and the line to run before the play to force him to run onto the ball At the dogs he had no one telling him shit and would have no impact.

I think if you have Fifita since round 1, like me, you gotta hold him now. Unless it's Fifita - Cleary.
