Thanks for letting me know how much better your gut feels are than mine, I'll keep that in mind for the start of next season.

I don't quite follow? You mean Fifita was a bad call to start with? In hindsight sure

I’ll be happy to hit 650 this weekmultiple.scoregasms wrote:Bit of a rescue job on my score from Captain Haas and Cotter yesterday
Brodie Jones, Tuilagi, Thompson, Katoa, Sexton all 30 or less in the 17
Only Papy, Burton and Penisini to come for me so will need a great showing to even hit 800

I was telling anyone that would listen that Fifi was poor value....
Shame I decided to go with Crichton and Mahoney instead

I also have that as an option. I want to hold Fifi because he will go big at some point but it just feels like I'm going backwards without Haas.

I could afford but not getting. I'll take the risk he scores big and doesn't leak cash

Who's this for sorry? You not getting Cleary or DCE?

I think the main case for Fifita was some certainty for the edges. Most here started with Nanai, Tuilagi, Bullemore, and one of Katoa/Fermor/Wilton. None seemed solid, long-term edge options. I grabbed Crichton after the clean-slate judiciary wipe for valuable DPP, but as a mid mainly. The decision was between iPap and Fifita for most. I went through an in-depth analysis of both players and determined that based on Fantasy scoring changes, both would probably average the same. The decision was between a 22 year old entering his "prime years", banking on that potential, and also a pedigree in a slower game, and a player who just had a breakout season and definitely benefitted from the faster game. iPap would get the ball on a blistering run and seemingly break millions of tackles and went over a bunch. My theory was that Fifita would be less effected by this, since he had a lesser motor and could recharge in a slightly slower game, whereas iPap really relied on space being created for him. I was wrong of course.
The unanticipated (personally) changes to this fantasy scenario, was that we are seeing defensive lines be much more set on the whole with both the slower game and penalties > 6 again rulings. We've gone back to the arm-wrestle by and large. A much more solid defensive line has comparatively affected Fifita more than iPap who is a really solid tacklebot and defends in the middle. He's still getting points from that, whereas Fifita's points are fairly one-dimensional. The other unanticipated change is the change in spine for the Titans. Fifita is just not the focal point of attack like he once was. Fogarty might have been really positive for Fifita's scoring.
Tl;DR I had an in-depth look at iPap and Fifita and picked Fifita, and it wasn't even a close decision for me really. It's just one of those 50/50s. No one could predict Fifita's current shite scoring, thought 50s were the minimum.
PS: I can't wait for my isolation to end and for me to have a life again, there's only so many solo beers one can have.
Something tells me the slower game and the KM/TB nerfs will even the whole field out over time so you wont have another Cleary like season. I think saving on a DCE type will work out in the long runRamitinmyhaaas wrote:I won't be able to afford Cleary so probs gonna grab DCE as an alternative and just pray that the scoring differences between the two won't be too bad.
