Didnt appear to engage the line in attack and was hiding wide in defense to avoid tackling. If I didnt buy him last week I would 100% be waiting another week or two till you see him get his killer mentality back, because without it he wont be elite.
That's it. Talk these pricks out of him so we can reap the benefits Twisted Evil

On May, he's a rookie winger already over 400k. If you missed him initially, ask yourself, would you go anywhere near a 400k rookie winger if it was to start the season? Annoyed I missed him to begin with, but not sure he's anywhere near a must-have at that price now.

He's only averaging 24.5 in base over those two games (tackles + TB + MG - missed tackles - errors). 29.5 if you want to be ultra generous and say a linebreak per game is a sustainable base stat. And that's already assuming 4 TBs per game is a sustainable base.

Think he probably makes another ~100k, but not sure if it's enough value now. Surely 5 tries, 3 linebreaks, 1 TA, 2 offloads, a TO tackle, and 8 TBs in 2 games isn't sustainable.

Hard to say that a guys floor is in the 40s when he scored a 26 in 80 minutes, and wasnt injured, against the worst team in the comp.

As I said, I feel that Thursday night will be an outlier. Even with that bludger of a match he averages a tick over 51. Im still 50/50 as to whether to trade him to Cleary now or wait a week (or possibly a few weeks depending on Cleary's score). If Cleary has a few more sub 60 scores I could keep Sexton and trade Cleary in for a Wilton/Aitken/S.Critta

Junior Paulo and E.Katoa to Cleary and Koula leaves me with 300k powder for next week's screw up. Locking it in.

Assuming players are named as expected (I know I could just wait til this afternoon but I'm procrastinating right now), which 2 of the following would you put in your 17:

    Jing, Ming, Jones, Thompson, Walters

To’o in last week Penrith injury report video high grade MCL gotta be in knee brace a little bit longer, then start strengthening then rehab running loads to me sounds like he’s probs still not gonna be back til round 8-9 I don’t think.

Who will you captain this week?

Oh im going Cleary, scored 44 while being a shell of himself, even if he does the same against the bulldogs and just fixes his goalkicking he will get a 50. Im just saying, he wont pump out Elite scores (80+) till he gets back to his killer mindset, that might be this round, but im not convinced.

You're searching for reasons to trade him in. Just do it and stop asking for advice and be happy with your decision.

TBH If Coates was averaging 2.5 tries per game, he probably ends up with a 50+ average too.
There's no way I'd pay to $400k+ for Coates (even if he did get involved more), and comparing the quality of Penrith and Melbourne's attack is tomato tomatoe for mine

Maybe May continues on a great try scoring run (that can happen), and the BE is great for a while, but To'o averaged 0.5T/game & 0.8T/game the last two years and he's a pretty good finisher, Staines also at 0.8T/game.
I haven't seen anything yet that tells me that Penrith have gone to another level, so I think that try scoring run likely regresses back to a Try per game and maybe it's a 40 average? - not a bad result, but not must have.

Just realised I can go Martin + Jing to Cleary and Koula. Probably worth it even if it means selling Jing short of his peak right?

Also means I can get Penisini out of my 17 and play Burton at CTR. Downside is I have to play one of Walters or Thompson (or Penisini, Paulo, Koula) in my 17.

Doing my best to restrict my trade ins to guns/possible guns (Cleary, Sexton) and players that are no more than 300k (Koula, Leo). Anyone outside that I will let pass by.

Might make an exception for Jones this week and Tuilagi next week as they are fairly close and still represent some value

Are people suddenly keen on Koula because they think he'll stay in the backline with Turbo out or are we reallly going to $220k cashouts in round 5?

Expect him to line up for 4-6 weeks with Turbo out, with potential to cement a spot in that time or fill in for another backline injury.

Vaccine lockouts end in QLD next week which probably means its no longer a concern for whoever the unvaxxed players are left.

      Current date/time is Fri Nov 22, 2024 2:48 pm
