No positional need really, just looking at those guys around that 300-350k mark. Have already got Koula in with my first trade so will have to go with a Jones or a Tuilagi.

Can they be split? Tuilagi probably best longer term choice?

    mattnz wrote:

Tuilagi looks great, just hasn't had any luck with minor injuries that have stopped him finishing games. Not convinced Jones is ready to play 80 yet based on what we saw last week.

Yeah pretty much agree with this. I have both Tuilagi and Jones already, pretty much out of desperation, I'm still quite hopeful they'll be useful. Jones should be better for the run, but would probably lean towards Tuilagi, but there are no standouts. Cash cows are hard this year. I've missed JKing and May. But have Ming, Randall, Schneider, Tago, Crichton, Nanai from rd1, Coates and Ilias have turned a corner.  Probably just need some patience. Hoping Koula is a cash cow rather than a cash out, again no guarantees here. None of this is particularly helpful is it? Maybe just get Koula, and wait for a better cow. 2nd trade either upgrade to a gun or hold if not there yet.

This is right. Such bastardry and abandonment should have Nrl Integrity unit type repercussions.

idk exactly what Payton is doing, but Lolo was still kind of playing lock last week (as a pivot and moving to the edges sometimes), although so was Cotter. You could say that they're both... hybrid lock/props.

honestly when you posted your team I was a little shocked at how good it was. I thought about offering further advice but your team is so much better than mine that I’ll pipe down.

I have Madden, he isn't a buy this week. Most likely only gets this week, then Hastings is back and likely takes his spot.

There are other guys with really low BEs if that is the attraction.
Madden was keeping his spot on the weekend wasn’t he?

Haha yeah my crop of cash cows includes: Randall, Ming, Leo, Critter, Nanai, Schneider, Ilias. So theres a hell of a lot of misses there.

Koula is being brought in for Amone. Bully to Tuilagi was the other trade option.

    It’s tough that’s for sure

Selected Koula as a place holder before Rd.1, blind luck that he picks up the Manly FB spot.
Really want Haas - but the whole integrity unit thing is annoying.
What do we think of Lolo & Clifford > Haas & Walters
    Worth it?

Reminds me of this story I read about Chris O'Sullivan at the raiders in 1986:

"O’Sullivan was a stalwart (even ‘legend’, at least in relative terms) of the Canberra Raiders. He was a super halfback who’d been there from day dot. He’d scored the last try in the team’s first win. In 1986 he became the first Raiders player to notch 100 games.

Yet halfway through the season, co-coaches Wayne Bennett and Furner decided they needed to switch their halves and play Ivan Henjak at halfback and O’Sullivan at five-eighth. And O’Sullivan made it plain he was not happy about it
“I went and told Chris that he was going to go from halfback to five-eighth. He didn’t like that at all, he lost the plot. He was threatening a whole lot of stuff.”

It was kind of a big deal. Bennett told Furner who told Bennett that he would handle it. He returned an hour later to declare situation handled. O’Sullivan would play five-eighth. It turns out he didn’t mind where he played. He just wanted to wear the number seven.

“I didn’t care what number he wore,” Bennett said.

“We needed Chris O’Sullivan to play, we didn’t need him not to play. But with the approach Don took – I’m a young coach, [saying] ‘You’ll do this and that’ – it wasn’t his way.

“Don went and put it to him another way. That was a pretty instrumental change and it made a big difference to us. I learnt a lot. How to handle players better, be more conciliatory at some stages.

“So we got the job done and made the grand final.”

I am $3k short of single trading Fifita to Cook which would have been my ideal trade.

What are Grant owners thinking of his form? In that first game, he was playing great, just looked to tire in the last 20 minutes. Much more subdued in the 2nd game, but looks set to play 80 most weeks. has to have some upside, with his price not having really moved much.

Katoa is a sell right? Warriors edge backrow situation is getting murkier with each game week.

Thinking Katoa to Koula to arrange the bail money. Thoughts?
