Discuss time and dates and attendance here

Looking at a Saturday game at some point in the 2nd half of the season.

For ease of transport for majority of people, probably SCG, Commbank or Stadium Australia are the best venues.

if you are from out of Sydney and interested post available dates here and others can try and work around your schedule.

Tagging a few Sydney regulars, but everyone welcome. apologies if I missed anyone

If there is a meet up for a Souths game at Stadium Australia I’m probably in.

Prefer it not to be Souths v Storm though that will be miserable!

Round 16 Souths v Eels Sat 2nd July at 7:35pm? I’d be in

I'm in for pretty much any date except 16-17 July

Happy to do Sydney, Gosford, Newcastle if we can try to avoid having them all same weekend again

Half the fun is going as a neutral I reckon, can just enjoy the time regardless of the outcome.
Cheer on a random player, twal to score a try or sink a couple fizzies
It gets you to a  bonus game you probably weren’t going to as well as putting a face to people.
Worth it regardless who is playing, recommend it for everyone, it’s a fun time

Also not going to lie, I prefer the smaller suburban grounds

Having a look at a few games

here are a few random ones I found based on location and time
I assumed saturday arvo was the easiest for travelling so started there, close to a train line (Leichardt oval I am unsure with public transport but a smokey so threw it in there)
Earlier games means you could potentially do lunch then meet up and kick on to watch the other games
Alternatively the later games is the usual, do an earlier meetup

A suggestion is the earlier you have it perhaps the more enthusiasm some people may have or new people to come along
Teams havent fallen apart, trades are still there and some people still have hope haha
I realise its not just about this, but its true for some

My pick would be the Roosters v Panthers at SCG based on it being soon, good day and time and potential to be a cracker
As a sharks fan i hate them equal haha but captain cleary live would be fun

Second pick would be the Roosters v Tigers but much later in the year

Im in. Dont care what ground, im happy to travel up the coast if that suits majority. Missed out last year and will be good to catch up with MS and talk about 2017 glory or whenever year it was we both finished top 100 and havent been fantasy relevent since. Booze can kept the conversation flowing about his team value.

I'd try and attend a Gosford meet up if it's on the cards.

For potential Gosford games, seems that Roosters vs Dragons on 16th July might be only game which is in the MS blackout period.

Any of the SCG games are good for me, I think afternoon is good. Good time for those that just want to watch the footy and talk fantasy, and good location for those who want to go out and have a few drinks afterwards

I'm in DILIGAF. Would prefer not SCG just because how far away you are from the action. As for Leichhardt it's a train to Petersham then the bus to the doorstep, but for most would mean 2-3 trains and very little for afterwards.

Also woudn't mind a Gosford/Newie run if it's a different weekend. However would be driving so no beers. Guess that makes me the designated driver if anyone else wants to join in

Agree would prefer not SCG purely for game atmosphere but it's probably one of the better options for pre/post game

Leichardt and Kogarah probably no go due to transport options

If we are looking at dates in May I probably can't do 21st either

I'm a solid maybe. I've been smashed with covid this week so when my head clears I'll have a look at some dates.

Was talking about going to footy with some mates, and remember this thread. I'd be keen for this if the stars align. Haven't busted out the Steelers jersey at a neutral game for a long time.

Potential I can get involved in this. Couldn't commit to anything at this stage but if a date is set I can look to work it in.

I have no preference of game/venue. Its a shame Sydney's options are all so shit lol

Commbank is a great stadium to watch from, and the venues for afterwards aren't too bad.

When the new SFS opens it will be good. Close to central station, plenty of places to go afterwards, and should be a great stadium

Neither of these were presented as an option for this years meet up though, were they milch!  :pp:

Is there actually no Commbank games that work for a meet up? (or just none with a team that someone here supports?)
