It makes logical sense to let him go. Short term pain, long term gain keeping their younger players in the team.
Look at the Panthers, they have always been willing to shift older players and blood younger talent.
You make some good points, but Reynolds is a club legend who wanted to finish his career at Souths. Illias is going to be a good player, but he isn't ready yet. Another season or two under the mentorship of Reynolds would have been good for his development IMO.
Ask the Souths fans who they would rather have playing half atm out of Reynolds and Illias.
