It wasn't really a tribal council though was it.
No one was voted off, we had a vote to give someone two votes at the next tribal - but of course unlike Survivor there was not even an allusion to there being a twist.
This isn't against Random - FWIW as far as I know, no one really wanted to vote him off anyway - but honestly that "twist" damages the integrity of this season as it wildly deviates from the basic premise of Survivor - you vote someone off at tribal council - it isn't to give someone an extra vote...
Look, I'm no Lee Hagipantelis, and so decided not to be rash last night and post my initial thoughts. Instead I chose to sleep on it.
I see, this morning, that there isn't just one person returning from being eliminated, but there are now two people returning.
So I've decided I may as well have a rant even though it will be to the detriment of my game, and yeah it is just a game, but I question what is the point of investing time into a game where the fundamental rules are so fluid - this isn't just a ruling on interpretation, it's a fundamental shift that does not align with the basic design-intention of Survivor.
This is still meant to be Survivor, right? like the game where at most one person has returned from exile in a season...
But now we have two players returning, and furthermore that's in addition to Random, so three people who have been voted off, but then Random get's an extra vote, so the next tribal consists of 4 votes from eliminated players - that's not a twist, it's a car crash.
This isn't against people returning, I'm all for having someone get a second chance, but having 4 votes suddenly land from eliminated players undermines the integrity of the season and I question whether you FS want this game to be about the players who have scraped and struggled, built and broke alliances, outplayed and outlasted to get this far with maybe one evicted returnee who gets a chance to fight their way back from the dead and maybe become the sole survivor, or if it is just about yourself and your ability to contort the game into whatever Frankenstein version of Survivor/Fantasy you see fit?
I could adapt to these changes, accept them and continue on - but I wonder if there's much point given seemingly any fundamental Survivor rule is seemingly meaningless.
Shit, maybe we already have the Sole Survivor - maybe Roger8 won it as the first person voted off?
Anyway, it wouldn't be Survivor without someone blowing up - so a good week for a break from this, and I'll step away and see how I feel about continuing when things roll around next week.
The irony of this is hilarious.

This is a tricky challenge, so many unknowns.
I put a draft together, which should do ok.

Yeah, I got a team but absolutely no idea if my Tongan lady is going to actually play (and if she does, in the position I need), and I'll be out of phone reception (and more specifically desire to check a phone) from Friday night until Sunday night.
Based on the fuckery around that Tonga team, challenge may have been a bit sexier if it excluded that game, but oh well, guess we'll see what happens.

Anyone who has been eliminated from the game at any stage can participate in this challenge.
There is 6 rep games this weekend
Womens state of origin
Womens Tonga vs NZ
Mens Tonga vs NZ
Mens Samoa vs Cook Islands
Mens PNG vs Fiji
Mens State of Origin
You must create a fantasy using 1 player from each team. Since fantasy positions aren’t available for all players use fantasy positions for players with them otherwise they can only be played in the position they are originally named at (if they are swapped somewhere else late they will only be able to be played in the position they are originally named at).
This will give you 12 of the 13 players. You can double up on one team that isn’t the Mens state of origin. You can denote one of the double ups as your captain who will score 2x points if his or her team loses and 1.5x points if their team wins.
Teams are due in by the first rep game. I will try and put in the teamlists but please help each other out by posting teamlist news and any changes. I will allow changes to your team throughout the weekend if you have a player that is a late out or changes positions.
Good luck.
You can denote one of the double ups as Captain does this mean we MUST pick a captain on a double up player?
Seeing as we can’t double up on an origin player does that mean no Captain from the origin game?

Due to the uncertainty with teamlists you may change your selections over the weekend in both challenges by PMing me. However, you can only swap out a player if they have been benched or they have swapped positions.

Whoever finds the full Tongan women team named 1-17 first should be the winner of survivor

Just don't pick Hudson Young, and you'll probably be OK

Maybe you can say to Falcon something like this: I woud like to select whichever lady that is named at 5/8 from the team representing Tonga

Brilliant minds think alike... that's actually what I'd done.

Only well over 1 hour? C'mon Rabbits up you game!
I had the luxury of flying across the pacific in the Falcon to ask some of the locals who their best players were. Those Islander are so hospitable and friendly!
