It was driving me nuts having so many leagues on my leagues page. I only joined so many to help people get the digital passes and now those have been given out I figure it is ok if I leave some of those leagues to keep me sane while looking at the league page.

I haven't left any of the leagues I subscribed to which start today as I didn't want to screw up the league and have it start with 15 teams. (and obviously want to be part of 'Panda's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'!)

But the leagues which start in 22 days I have left, giving the league commissioner plenty of time to fill the spot.

The leagues I have left and now have 1 new spot available are:

    bullbender's league
    ms + 15 plebs
    random
    boom league

Agree with that comment regarding Auv'ua. I'm hoping he misses rd1 so no one picks him up then he makes a comeback within a couple weeks

    What do you think guys:

    A. Segeyaro or Lichaa? Segeyaro probably has the higher ceiling and average but lichaa saves around 30k with not much drop in scores and I'm also hearing talk that E. Taylor could take minutes of Soggy given he's on the bench. What do you think?

    B. Pat Mata'utiaOr K. Auva'a? I hear Pat gets the boot when Sione returns but couldn't his twin be the one that eats it? Auva'a is probably the better scorer but is also on the bench. Could he be in for a switcheroo with Hymen later on or even as ealry as sunday? Who is the lesser risk?

    C. Paul Carter or Pauli^2? Carter is surely suffering when either of the Burgesses return but how much? Does he get shafted or does K. Turner? Pauli on the bench. Is he enough of a Scknt to be a handy scorer off the bench? Thinking Takeaho from last year.

I'd also be open to better options than the ones I've mentioned in the same price range.

So much easier following along with these threads throughout the day, rather than having 50 odd pages to trawl through when I get home.

Re my previous question on the last thread. I'll start Ferguson, Gordon, Barba & if Mann goes well I'll reassess.

Question to Official Sportal league commissioners:

If I am on the 'Official' NRL FANTASY FANATICS OVERALL GROUP

is there any need for me to be part of  (EX-SPORTAL) NRL FANTASY FANATICS

other than for my own interest, like it will be the official 'overall group' one which is used next year for seedings of leagues and not the 'ex sportal' one right?

People that think Taupau will get extra minutes may have not considered that Kapow is an impact player & better used in short bursts to maximise his impant. He is not an endurance type player that can play big minutes. So I think his minutes will be around the same as last year.

1st group is for ranked leagues and will be used next year.

The second group is was used to reach out to old Sportal members, so you don't necessarily need to be a part of it.

Tapau is strong as a mofo but he's huffing and puffing after 20 mins. By the time he reaches his 30th minute he'll start arm grabbing instead of tackling.
He is one of those forwards that really does rely on those big metres and tbs but he is very capable of doing it regularly

    +1

This is running so much more smoothly than back in the day when I was trying to keep the NRL fantasy stuff humming along in Sportal and I WASNT a mod and I used to have to chase Mitch to do stuff for me with the threads and the fecker was more a hinderance than a help.

Doubt creeping in over here now. Only picked him because thought his mins would increase, should probably go Merrin then I guess.

What about TTrbo for a similar price to Mann, just to add to the confusion / stress?? If Stewart pops that Hammy he will nearly be a must have.

he was interviewed the other day and said he'd done alot of work over the off season on cardio so that he can play more consistently. obviously the aim is more mins, but i guess we'll have to wait n see how that goes.

im sticking with him. i reckon he'll be a beast this year.

specific quotes below. you can read into it whatever you want i guess.. to me managing your workrate means playing bigger mins, but i guess we'll find out soon enough.. i'm sure every club has been doing 'more cardio' etc

Having made his mark as an explosive player, Taupau has prepared differently this pre-season because of the reduction in interchange and the introduction of a shot clock. The 26-year-old said he needed to pace himself better during matches.

"I've been doing a lot of cardio," Taupau said. "It's always going to be a fast game and I'm ready for it. I'm still doing my strength training and building my base there.

"It's all about timing. I have to manage it. I don't want to go too hard too fast because you will blow yourself out and you won't last. For me it's about moderating how much energy I exert."
