If Grant is out looks like Randall's gets another week in my team. Was hoping to trade him and run with no HOK backup

Maybe Harry Grant's issue is like how some bench props used to get named in jersey #19 because the #16/#17 jersey won't fit them.

Trading in Grant because I was getting dicked by his 70 something 5 game avg for scores of 33, 47 and DNP will go down as one of my worse trades this year I think lol. Desperately unlucky timing but I reckon I make that trade again 99 times out of 100

    Could always be worse.
You could have traded in Elliott for him to be ruled out on game day then trade him out for him to move to starting lock and score 43 points while you trade someone in who scores in the 30s Crying or Very sad

Speaking of Magic Round, I think fans of many non-QLD clubs would rather not be involved than have to play a "home" game there (unless they get a deal like Manly has with Brisbane)

Unfortunately I think its the cash rather than fans that matters here:

From a fans perspective I 100% agree but I'm sure most of the clubs rather the money from a sold out home game (i.e. the traditional Manly vs Brisbane "home" game). Seems like they also get $250k from the NRL (https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/nsw-team-set-to-miss-out-as-nrl-guarantees-dolphins-a-magic-round-spot-in-2023-20220501-p5ahk1.html) as an additional incentive. https://www.austadiums.com/sport/comp/nrl/results is interesting reading. Crowds are higher than I expected on average so not sure without the 250k bonus from the NRL if its that attractive.

Expansion to 18 teams feels like it's some time away so in a 17 team world I'd like there to be some sort of logic to it. My suggestions would be something like one of the following:

    - Wooden Spoon misses out. Caveat: No team can miss out 2 years in a row
    - Top 8 are automatically in. Could have a 3 week toilet bowl/finals loser system where losers play on. This would have the bottom 8 teams making sure to exclude the team that missed out on magic round the previous year.
    - Top 8 are automatically in. Could use regular season results to split the bottom 8 (i.e. use the last games played between bottom 8 teams to create a whole new ladder. 8th spot misses out on Magic round. Again making sure to exclude the team that missed out on magic round.
    - Team that scores the least points during a season misses out. Caveat: No team can miss out 2 years in a row
    - Some sort of Skills challenge. Think like the NFL Pro Bowl or NBA All Star weekend but with 100m sprint, Bomb Catching, Goal Kicking, Passing, kicking a ball into bins, tackling force counter,
    - Each clubs best try of the season gets ranked and the worst try doesn't go to magic round.
    - Lowest total points for the winner of each clubs NRL Fantasy Comp misses out on Magic Round.
    - NRL Nines (if it comes back) wooden spooner could determine the team that misses out.

Personally I'd prefer a toilet bowl finals series but that's logistically unlikely........ So I'd settle for a skills challenge or Fantasy related comp.

I think it would be silly to make it luck of the draw. Its a business and the event exists to make money. Team that misses out could be compensated fairly in some other way. It sucks but it is what it is, afterall it is just a bunch of football games.

team that misses out to play an exhibition against an English team. Call it battle of the crown. Compensate both teams heavily. Would watch the shit out of that.

wherever you have alcohol you will have problems...only way to solve it is don't serve alcohol but that unfairly treats the 99% of people who behave themselves & enjoy the footy.

Cotter or Matterson this week? Followed by Tohu next week.

Don't really care about round 13 too much.
