I'd let him go if it was me

Big minute middle for both rep and club team. Club team flying at the top of the ladder can afford to rest him through this period

Don't be surprised if there are a few games Panthers lead comfortably that he doesn't get a second stint and you are looking at 25 points from 30 minutes

Walsh and To'o probably outscore Teddy + base

Crichton/Tohu probably go close to Ipap for 200k less

Robson/Mahoney will give you 50-55 for 100k less than Grant and 150k less than Cook

Burton is going to be the top averaging centre, but Aitken will go close and you can probably get him on the down swing

I think the key is to pick your "non negotiable" guns and lock them in

Cleary is far and away the best half but rather than spending 800k on someone like DCE or Munster to partner him you can probably get away with Keary, Hastings, Hunt for <650k

Hynes is going to be the top averaging WFB but pairing him with 2 fallen guns is okay

This post reminded me of the Reject shop, we all know and love it though and are ok and happy to go there. Shopping today.

I see rumours of Averillo potentially moving to 1. $287k, Hlf/ctr, could be a decent cash out option? With Naden leaving the club, him at centre should at least be locked in.

Problem is he has been non existent with them this season in attack, but a change in coach and him going to 1 should change that.

My trades this week currently are currently S Crighton to Walsh, and A Fifita to Harris.

Then next week I'll be on track for Starling to Mahoney, and I'll need a centre, so I'm thinking going mid range with Bird.

Averillo was good to me last year, i'd be tempted. Obvs he'd come in as a cash out that might be useful here and there.

I need to put some thought into trades. It occurred to me that if I want to get Aitken then I may as well try get him this week. I'd need to get someone cheap to fund it though.

Thanks MS. I've slept on it and gut is saying the same. Yeo is not a big tackle buster so if he only plays 50 minutes, he could easily only get a 30 as you say, especially how many tries they score too. It's risky but gut is saying I can trade.

I just spent three minutes digging around. The bulldogs forum is convinced based on a couple of training photos. Allen wearing the 4 and Averillo in the 20. I saw one where Averillo is running across in cover defense in the fb position while you can see Allen is out wide in the 4.

    Wasn't it Allan coming in?

I'm already looking at him for his DPP. I'd potentially spend the extra on him over Savage. He plays for the Dogs though.

Hmmm.....looking at your excellent site I see he's never played FB in first grade, so seems a stretch unless he's played there in ressies or junior.

I'm pretty sure he has said in the past that his best position was fb.

Its a move that might last as long as two weeks though and then things change agian.

You could do worse than Avo as a cash out. Good JS and if Flanno gets injured could end up back in the halves. Didn't their backup 7 get suspended recently?

    Good post.

The run home post origin is when a couple of alternate PODs can actually make a big difference. Eg Ben Hunt is someone who's up and down and not ideal as a season long keeper, but you get him at the right time and he bangs out a bunch of 70s. They're the late season risks (sometimes forced due to cash) that pay off huge.

People get caught up trying to pick "PODs" at the start of the season, its a stupid strategy.

I've done the sums and my team and cash gen is so bad I think I'll get to 15 guns by R17/18 and a few of them are very marginal. Downgraded my season goals to top 20,000 cheer

I think we should just end the season here while I’m ranked in the top 500 before I run out of trades in 4-6 weeks

Who would be viewed as a better keeper? Crichton or Tago? Crichton seems to have more 50s but lower low games. Tago seems to have a smaller base but less high scoring games. Crichton also has that handy DPP.
