I've called myself in for an emergency meeting of the Cake Tigers board tonight. They are thinking of making changes. I'm not worried, I've had a good run.....

I think Madge could be a better fit for the Warriors than Flanno, Justin Morgan or Paul Green. Would love to see him work alongside a Kiwi coach as assistant. He worked in Super League so does not have that "Australian only" mentality.

He already coaches the Kiwi national side. Have a feeling he might want a rest after the Tigers though. He might also be tired of working at places that can't get it right off the field - Tigers, NZRL.

Have to think Curran starts on the edge and Murchie drops to the bench if not out of the side for someone else.

    BUMP

Have up to 628k to replace Starling, who are the best options? Leaning towards maybe a WFB so I don’t have to keep playing Koula

Might I interest you in Ronaldo Mulitalo?

49.1 average in 80 minute wing games (he had a game at centre in round 1, and then failed an HIA in round 2), and Sharks always go left, even if they aren't winning.

His draw for the rest of the year is real nice too: Warriors, Titans, Dogs, Storm (origin-affected, likely running at Seve and Ieremia), Cowboys, Panthers, Souths, Dragons, Tigers, Manly, Dogs, Knights

So basically his draw from 14-17 and 20-25 are great, it's just 18-19 that could be hard, and he managed to score fine in games they've lost (52 vs Chooks, 45 vs Raiders, 69 vs Storm).

    CTR/WFB dual and 589k

Bethany_B wrote:I've come up with a new plan for trading this week, please feel free to poke holes in it.

Hastings to DBrown - Bags has averaged 60 this year when he hasn't been moved to centre

Ponga to Mulitalo - I've already waxed lyrical about why I want him, but TLDR: Sharks always go left

Billy Smith to Dockar-Clay - Need money and a HOK this week, ZDC does both those things for me and seems to have taken that Dogs bench spot in the wake of Barrett's sacking. I'm not expecting much here, just 20ish points and a warm body.

This would leave me 7+4 trades and 58k bank, so yes, I am cutting it close with trades and this is a risky play, but I was planning to trade all three of these guys anyway. Leaves me the following side - if I can end up keeping RFM, MKing and Elliott, then I'm only one spot short of my final 17 with 7+4 trades left.

    Cook
    Haas, Ipap, Matto
    Angus, RFM
    Munster, Cleary
    Tago, Mulitalo
    May, Hynes, Ramsey

    Cotter, DBrown, MKing, Elliott

    Kiraz, Koula, Dockar-Clay, Vailea

Feel like Ponga to Mulitalo is rather sideways

Yes Ponga is lazy sometimes but he’s still capable of a banner as much as anyone else in his day. Could easily backfire like the Tedesco trade Evil or Very Mad

I’m thinking of bringing in Ponga soon as a cut price WFB

I've pretty much abandoned this idea because it would compromise my efforts to get Papy in.

My new plan is just Hastings to Dylbags, then trading Ponga next week or week after to get Papy in. I am willing to cop 16 this week if I have no hookers, as I don't trust Mahoney and no other hookers are any good.

If I can get Papy in without trading Ponga, I'm happy to keep him, but I don't see a realistic way to do that.

I'm happy to play a backline of Hynes, May, Savage/Koula until Papy returns.

Brian To'o could be an option if he backs up after origin.

with Mam named (Gamble not in the squad at all), I've got a bit of a conundrum. Do I:

TU: Hastings to DBrown, let Mam go since I don't have many trades left anyway and can't afford Billy to Mam if I do this
TD: Hastings to Mulitalo, Billy Smith to Mam
