Teddy haas been great as has Cleary

QLD never recovered from the sin bin…..young outside backs with turn over errors during that period added to the fatigue load

    API also very effective

Think you're underrating Paulo a touch. Second most RM of any forward.

He had a nightmare. Can't remember Gagai being that bad in Origin before either.

Fittler vindicated picking Tupou and To'o over JAC, both excellent. Paulo most damaging forward on field off the bench, Talakai made a good impact too.

Jake Trbo close to MoM for the connoisseurs. Doing all the important things right beyond the stats... no coincidence QLD were taking control in the time he was off the field

Worth giving Carrigan a big shoutout I think, he was immense again today in a well beaten team.

Made the most tackles for either team - 41 for one miss. The next best were Grant with 38 for 5 misses, Yeo with 35 for one miss, and Capewell with 34 for 4 misses.

Also had the most run metres of any QLD forward with 103. Tino the next best with 78. Most post contact metres too with 45, beating Tino's 34.

Finally, he had the second-fastest PTB speed for QLD with 2.98s, only beaten by Papalii with 2.48. Way ahead of the rest, Gagai the next best for QLD with 3.44. Only Api beat that for NSW with 2.96s.

Heard a few people questioning Jurbo's place before the game.

Must run metres for a forward on either side with 143, and most post-contact too metres with 61.

Also made the second-most tackles for NSW.

Not the sexiest pick, but just does what it says on the tin game after game after game. You need a few players like that. I would never have dropped him.

Well Matterson sure isn't getting back in the side. All aboard for R17.

    Up the Blues.
Vindication for Freddy and the stuff-up that was Game 1.
Game 3 will be another beast entirely.
For those who think Kaufusi was hard done by, cry me a river. The grub should never have been playing.

Collins, Capewell, Kaufusi, Arrow, Papalii, and Nanai all ran for less than 50 metres. Says it all really. Were never really in the game from the 30th minute.

Unless there are injuries, there's no need to unleash Papy either. And Wighton back in for SCritta with SCritta going to 18 would free Hynes up (not that relevant as everyone has him). Also Latrell will be R17 if anyone wants/needs to take that risk.

Proper workhorse. Not glamorous, but mighty effective. Just what you need sometimes.

Yeah was just about to post this, Pap should be a pretty safe R17 pick now.

Absolutely…he doesn’t need to offload or be creative they have plenty of other guys for that

Cardigan did the same job for QLD (although he has a lovely little change of direction when he receives the ball which gets a few extra metres each carry). They really missed Cotter and the sin bin hurt but tbf NSW played a whole lot better this game

So many good players tonight. Sure Cleary scored a couple of tries late but I was surprised they picked him for man of the match.
Teddy was immense, as was Jurbo and To’o, but Burton would’ve been my pick. What a debut. He’ll be there for many more years.

Outside back missed tackles tell a story: Ponga (3), Cobbo (5), Holmes (5), Gagai (8 ), Taulagi (1).

NSW outside backs missed 5 between them.

    There's the game right there.
