Missed out on the party last night, had planned a massive pole-dancing extravaganza... I guess it will have to wait until the end of this thread

Good decision. Cook must have final 17 and Mahoney just a waste of a trade

Lots of love on here for Barnett, who I’m considering for Butcher.
I know Josh Curran plays for the Warriors and is only 2 games back from injury but he played 80 mins last game. He was gunning it prior to his injury and likely to be back on the edge now with Tohu back.
I guess Barnett playing the bye round puts him ahead.

Barnett now and Curran possibly later. Barnett as 80 min edge probably best value going atm

I don't understand the point of Volkman instead of Kennedy for another 19k. Rd 17 score and job security vs young half whose NSW Cup stats aren't that great and if low on trades he's just going to sit in EMG for rest of season

    Thinking

    Koula to Kennedy
    Fermor to Grant
    Aitken to Bird

Leaves 8 trades (+4) and this team. 220k itb for Kiraz or Walsh to Papy next week.

    Grant
    Mcinnes Lolo iPap
    Frizell Angus
    Cleary Burton
    Bird Penisini
    Hynes Gutherson Walsh

    Robson Mahoney Harris Ming
    Kiraz RFM Mam Kennedy

Just tossing up whether I should go DCE instead of Grant

Koula scoring fine without tries. I think he's a hold with great utility value. Bird averages 12pts negative a game at edge. I'm glad I sold early and never going back this season possibly ever again. Grant 74 BE isn't urgent trade in and neither is DCE who I think is still a doubt to play so that would be 2 games after origin missed if doesn't play and Origin 3 still to come

Based on balance of side I like DCE for you there, he’s a bit more of a POD but gives more flex to put Burton into centres and cash out one of your centres for the run home.

Hard to get a read on it. I wouldn't go there personally.
Brooks has been training at hooker this week. So, expecting brown to start and AD to come on and play 5/8. Only thing that would change that is to'a being ruled out.

Koula should never need to be in my 17 again, he's done his job time to bank the cash.

And it's time to get the points from the guns into my 17 (Grant or DCE), not worried that their BEs are slightly high, talking a potential 20k drop where I'd rather have their points upgrade this week. Either of them could go and smash out their BE anyway.

Bird obviously not been as good as last year, far from a no brainer, but he's 450k now and my hope is he can average low 40s from here on which I'll be satisfied with at centre for 450k. Gives me the cash for Papy which is key.

Yeah that's the benefit with DCE for sure. If I went Grant this week I'd probably still want to bring in a half at some point soon to enable Burton back to centre for Penisini. So you're probably right to just get that done now. I know there's some talk DCE is questionable to back up this week but they play first so we'll know.

Bird last 6 games MT 10 6 6 1 6 5 and that's not even taking into account errors and pens. It's like he's starting the game on -10 minimum. Koula low BE and Knights and Dragons after Storm who he scored 35 against last time doing nothing much. Wouldn't shock me if Koula matches Bird for scores bar the bye round so I that means Bird not in your 17 either? I'd just do Aitken to Kennedy out of that lot or Fermor to a Barnett that plays 17. Grant can wait. I'm getting him but not now. I want every low be cow to eek out as much cash as possible and guns to lose value before I buy after 17 and onwards

Apologies for being so quiet lately, got hammered by Covid and didnt feel much like doing anything a lot of the time.

How many are we thinking we need for RD 17 to stay competitive. I know it depends who the players actually are, but just a rough estimate?

I've got 10 currently with a mixture of guns and questionable guys (Kennedy etc). We thinking that's alright?

4 trades this week leaves me 6 (+4), basically nothing in the bank but a team I’m pretty happy with and around 7 players for the bye.

    Grant
    Barnett, Klemmer, Ming
    Elliott, Ipap
    Cleary, Moses
    Penisini, Burton
    To’o, Hynes, Teddy

    SCrichton, Robson, Walsh, Tohu

10 ridiculous high amount. Before trades this week I had 2 Matto and Mam plus Hynes and Wishart who neither likely play. Now Matto possibly out few weeks and Gamble named in reserves is worrying for Mam

Yafss.com shows distribution of top 1000 for bye players, 10 is at the sharp end of the curve, should expect to make some good ground with that many!

I respect Gamble as a player because he's a hard worker who gives 100% but Mam has the attacking edge over Gamble & is very dangerous if he even gets a sniff. As a halves combo imo the organisation of Reynolds & the running game of Mam will make the Broncos more dynamic & efficient in attack than the halves combo of Reynolds & Gamble. I think the model of Reynolds & C. Walker at Souths ares what the Broncos are striving for so imo Mam has edged above Gamble in the pecking order.
