Officially its a light calf strain and he won't be out long. There are some rumours its a bit more serious

I certainly wouldn't be starting with him. The big question is whether you think Trindall will get enough games. No point scoring 30 points above your BE if you only do it for 1 week.

Absolutely right. No logic at all to giving it to players who aren't names (Dunn, Sadrugu) but not to team who's not playing (BMM). Either do neither or both.

    Yeah it’s a shambles

The last update last year they ignored giving a DPP CTR/WFB to a Tiger that had played in the position not given for about 6 weeks. I really needed it in draft.

But yeah let’s give some Cowboys DPP based on the vibe.

I Katoa is giving me Amone vibes from last year. SOS will surely do the bulk of the kicking and it's hard to see where many attacking stats will come from playing for the Dolphins. Hard to look past a 230k starting half but I'm considering it.

Just had a peep at 2022 R4 and 5 when Lane was out with an injury. Matterson filled in for Lane in that position for 2 weeks. Seems logical that Matterson will slot back there once back from suspension until Lane returns? Carty is a bad player, but is Doorey any better? Did he pass any eye test at all during trials? What was his fantasy score like?

Theres a blog called the cumberland throw with a few eels fans who turn up to training a lot, and know their shit

Sifting through it seems like Doorey had front running for edge spot with lane, but they expect matto to play edge when he returns. Some of the training notes seem to indicate matto was training on edge in the ressies.

    When is Lane back ?

So why don't I trust it?

All of those games at lock were games Jake Trbojevic didn't play in.

Wit JTrbo at 10, I would worry that Keppie is playing lock in name only, and am tempering my excitement for him

I mentioned seriously considering this in my team tracker most recent post.

Well, I've just done it and kind of like it. Basically meant going Cleary, Miller, Ponga and about 100k bank to Cook, Teddy and TMM. Team actually looks... better? Could also do Grant instead of Cook and keep the bank.

Doorey has been first choice over Carty all off season.

He scored a try in both of the trial games and Arthur is playing him heaps different to his role at the Bulldogs.

Carty likes to pull off an 80 minute games for a few points as well. Brad Arthur does not trust him at all.

Matterson is now considered a MID off the bench. I pity those who pick Carty

Fractured jaw for Lane, but no official timeline on his return

nrlphysio said minimum 1 month, could be 2 or more if its serious

Did Erin Clark get dual despite being named on the bench, or did he already have it from last year?

4-6 weeks from last week. So 3-5 game weeks ish. 3-5 game weeks of Doorey then, 3 of carty?

Never a good sign when the teams star player isn't named with a chance of playing this week and a late out, often means they aren't close to being right.

I am going with Trindall, upside potential is amazing if he is out a few weeks or either Moylan or Kennedy were unavailable for any reason, I would expect him to be first cab off the rank.

I'm with you on this one Matt, for me it's just a blatant points grab for round 1, with potential to trade him out for a missed cow. Basketball

Trindall is a much better bet than Blore/Doorey, especially in terms of week 1 scoring potential

Concern is if Hynes comes back after a week, its a bit of a waste

Could be a waste but if he’s out longer then you’re laughing

Worst case you trade him out for whichever other $250k you missed, but with an extra week of watching them play (and seeing if Bateman kicks Blore out for example)

Fair call, but even if Jurbo is still basically playing the lock role, someone needs to play decent minutes in that Manly middle apart from Jurbo, and it's not as if Paseka, Aloiai, or Bullemor are noted huge minute players. There should in theory be enough of a bump to Keppie's minutes to give him decent value. I still don't trust it though.

Also, I'm starting with Latrell, maybe switch to Trbo round 3 or 4, depending on which team and player has the better start to the season
