Butcher is my escape route on Bird/Turbo if he doesn’t live up to hype by R4
This is how I'm leaning too
Think I'll start with Teddy + Butcher, fully prepared to drop one or both for Bird/Turbo before round 4.
I guess the problem comes if Teddy/Butcher or my midrange guys are all doing well and I don't want to drop any of them for Bird/Turbo. But then if all my guys are doing well, then that's probably an alright situation to be in.
Its likely at least one of my more expensive players is failing to live up to my expectations. Just hope whoever it is takes their byes into account before they disappoint me,

For some reason I don't rate Tino as much as everyone else. I remember a year or two ago when we were all aboard the train and he was very disappointing.
Tino is all based on the switch to prop for the end of last season.

Looking at either Miller + I.Thompson + 75K OR taking a punt on Ponga + Talau + 38K
Personally I think, on a dud Knights team, Miller doesn't average much more than TMM but for a higher price.

He is enjoyable to watch and a terrific bloke by all accounts, so I wouldn't talk anoyone out of starting with him.

Cards on the table, I totally forgot there was a TU/TD thread when I added one here earlier.
So I'll take the hit on that one and keep it in mind for next time!
Personal opinion is they are all fine in this main thread. More people see them in here. It’s particularly handy in here on days like today where we are all looking for extremely quick feedback.

Only exception to keeping it even is if there’s a chance to make it 6 upvotes and 9 downvotes.

I'm not sold on Warbick tonight and playing him. I guess that's the cold feet talking. I think I like HSS so have put him in and moved Thompson down to WFB. I think I'll also swap Kahn out for Talau.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2023 Part 7 - Game day!!!!!
Just to add more Cheese to the convo, the way I see it is there is a chance after RD1 we all look back at him as one of those players where we say what did we all see there and he scores average.
However, his ownership is so high that it really shouldnt hurt your season too much.
What can derail your season is not going with him and he kills it and you are immediately on the back foot come RD 2 scrambling to get him into your team while the majority who have him can sort out other issues/
Just look at his average over big minute games and don't think too hard on this one, pick him and find issues elsewhere folks

Same feeling on Warbrick, rookie winger, first game blah blah blah. Quite prepared to be wrong and sacrifice the points but take the price rise.

Good point. I want to start with Trell and Butch, but maybe Teddy is better for the early match ups with a look to swap him or both to a Turbo and Bird combo. Hmmmm

Haven’t seen a lot of love recently for Burton, any reasons for that or just Doueihi being preferred?

Ramitinmyhaaas wrote:Who do we prefer out of CNK and TMM? Having a hard time splitting the two.
TMM's value is really based on stats going back to 2017 and 2016 when he had a bit of a run at 5/8th for the Panthers. Averaged mid 30s and that was without any bulk kicking stats.
His recent stats are poor, but they are based on playing fullback.
He's a bit like Doorey in that he's not a very exciting choice, you're basically hoping for some solid 30+ efforts to keep his price ticking over until you are able to move him on for someone actually good.
CNK was pretty poor fantasy wise last year, but was a solid 40ish scorer the 3 years before that.
Guess you are just betting on whether he can re-find that form or not. Will the Warriors be good enough to get him the attacking stats he needs?

Sloan is always an option to put in if Warbrick gets a hatty.
