Luke Thompson who went from 6-8 weeks to 6 months to 6-8 weeks to 12 weeks… it’s a Lisfranc injury, so he’ll be 3 months minimum. Could be 5. Could be longer if he has complications like RFM did. Terrible injury, feel for him.

So I guess good news for all the Sutton, Preston, Pele, etc. faithful

I can just see Hynes being back next week and me having a 280k red dot. Think I'm just too risk averse to bring him in. Best of luck to all who take a punt on him, I hope he puts up a decent score or two for you all!

My view on this (as a generally conservative player) is that if it goes up in smoke you reverse the trade in a few weeks.

If there is any time to pour petrol on a trade and drop a match it's now before the injuries and heebie jeebies start really kicking in

In saying that I have ended up with both....I think I ditched Perham to get Trindall at the same time I ditched Garner to get Walsh

12 weeks is better than the season. If the season, they start shopping.

Crazy to be considering tapine to stefano to allow me to turn one of my dud centres into bird next week now we know he’s playing lock? I’ve got massive cold feet on my spud centres. They always destroy me every year so I’ve got PTSD and have a stacked mid line

    Has Bird been confirmed?

I’m running with him since Thursday knowing it’s a risk he’s not named there or recovered from injury but I value not playing both alamoti and HSS and running all the cheap ctrs as cover. I’m running Bird, Thompson, Alamoti.

I think you wanted Tapine for a reason. I’d say stick with it. Bird + Uto = 80-85 points. Tapine + “dud” CTR = 65 - 95. Plus the latter option hopefully makes better cash too.

I will likely make my Trindall call at 726pm. The unlikely event of a Klese Haas debut named 24hrs out would avoid the decision.

I’m also wildcarding FPL today so my kids are getting ignored a lot.

I would be amazed if Tanner gets enough minutes to select at all. I have him down for 10 minute estimate. I expect Pele would be better, but wouldnt select either.

Players outside of the top 30 cant hold their spot when guys like TPJ come back.

Playing Stone probably the safest of them.

Ok thanks, Stone just fels like Garner 2.0 to me, not sure why

Hmmm yes I suppose that's true. I guess best case I can make a quick 100-150k all the while Katoa is finding his feet a-la Ilias last year..

Also getting Trindall means I will have someone in the Sharks v Rabbits game which will make it worth watching..

I suspect you are right but it is, and has always been, my moral duty to select every rookie half named in rd1 in every season despite having about a 15% historical success rate

Aardvark wrote:Looks like lots of knees being jerked based on yesterday's results/fantasy scores.

Just remember with the middies those results can reverse quite easily next week also I know conventional wisdom says don't ditch a gun on the back of one low score but last year going with that fucked my season (hung on to Angus and Mahoney too long and fell behind) so I reckon you given them a couple of runs, have a look at the games and try analyse whether it's bad luck or something has changed which limits their potential and jump off quick if that's the case.

These are good points. Angus/Mahoney are tough calls though. I had Angus and traded when I saw him coming from the bench. If it's just a stretch of early-season rust then it's probably an L you swallow for not getting the hot hand, imo.

There's a fine line between missing the boat and chasing points.

How many ticks for a Tricky Trindall pick when his tackle tricks just don’t stick?

If I stick and he's a prick I'll be at the end of my wick.
