Lindsay Smith and Karl Lawton getting a decent stretch of games would be nice.

Would be two very nice additions for cheap

Let's go Level 3. If I read correctly, we're the highest averaging league.

I share Rabbits21 view that it's hard to get both now without running very thin or having had phenomenal cash gen. That might just be a sad indictment on my team status though, and maybe its easier than I think?

My plan is Uto, Carty, Trindall to Ford, Hynes, <350k (ideally Mid)

    Would give me

    Brailey
    Haas, Hopgood, Ford
    Fifita, Hosking
    Hynes, Cleary
    Alamoti, HSS
    Miller, Turbo, Sloan

    SJ, Preston, EKatoa, Loiero

    Boyd, Warbrick, IKatoa, Cashie

Probably is a little light, mainly due to HSS, and cheapish mids compared to most? Could be Loiero instead of Uto out strengthen mid a bit.

Hynes obviously has the bye this week, but he's also 130k more than Cleary.

I can reasonably comfortably grab Cleary this week with two trades, the second will be a cash down, but doesn't need to be in playable 17.

Team is slipping down the rankings despite not looking entirely bad on paper.

Don't have either and was planning to hold off to get Hynes next week, but thinking I'll go Mitchell>Cleary this week (single trade), and then grab Teddy once he's back.

Will downgrade Carty as soon as he's named on the bench, and I'll look to grab Hynes when one of my other guns is injured.

Any reason not to just lock in the following trades?

Carty + Hammer to SJ + Soni Luke

SJ is doing everything for the Warriors atm and getting him won't compromise my plans for getting Hynes next week, while I have no HOK cover and Soni has roughly the same BE as Kodi and Sele (and isn't on a limited timeframe like the others are).

Would leave me with $50k bank and the following side. Plan would be Reynolds to Hynes next week funded by either Loiero, Keppie or Sloan.

    J Brailey
    Haas, Murray, Hopgood
    E Katoa, Hosking
    Cleary, SJ
    Bird, Alamoti
    Walsh, Miller, Warbrick

    A Reynolds, Loiero, Preston, Ford

Keppie, Sloan, S Luke, I Katoa

Yes, because team lists are still 24 hours away. Trading Hammer is stupid too.

What's wrong with trading Hammer? BE of 35 and the Dolphins look much worse without SOS.

When I said that I also forgot you can make 3 trades at once from R7. Seems a slightly easier proposition with the additional trade available.

Well, starting FB that looks like a centre keeper.  Plus, Hosking and Preston no garuntees to play.  Don't understand the Luke trade in either. If it's just for cover, may as well prioritise another gun.

This is under the assumption that Hosking plays (would need both Martin and Garner back for him to lose his spot), and Preston being out is fine, as I would just loop the last spot between my EMGs.

I have Bird and Alamoti at CTR so I don't really need Hammer there, and the Dolphins look worse without SOS which affects Hammer, he won't get the attack he has earlier in the year.

Soni Luke isn't an ideal trade in but he's the best under 300k given that he isn't on a time constraint (like Kodi and Sele are) and would give me HOK cover which I don't currently have.

Don't ask for opinions then. Just lock the trades in.

BE of 35 and an average of 45.

    Available at CTR.

At worst, is a good 19th man at the end of the year to cover WFB and CTR.

My theory of not picking Warriors backfired this season:

Fair enough, though if I want to go ahead with my trades I could simply keep Hammer and sell Loiero instead, but at this point I'm not entirely sure if I want to burn 2 trades chasing SJ instead of just holding off and targeting the next player that's a must-have

Thinking of forgoing Lemuelu and instead targeting Lomax/Critta in the next few weeks. Sound?

Thinking Lomax on the cheap, then Bird at some stage prior to R13. Bulldogs have a R13 bye so Alamoti > Bird would be a goer at some stage

Catching up on the posts now, hope I didn't miss anything important

Not sure how the multi quote thing works here, so have just opened comments up in a new tab

Bethany mentioned SJ (I think you were talking about him?) in a moon boot - I can confirm this is true! They just showed him here on the NZ news

SJ said it was all good, just precautionary for his calf because they had a flight - Was in a moon boot and looked like some kinda plaster over his knee/just below it

I'm sure he's all good to go this week though so wouldn't really worry
