So there are three replacements for Cleary in the blues squad. Hynes. Reynolds, Moses. All love the right side. Hynes has been set up as the Cleary replacement this year for sure. Reynold's club form is definitely better than Moses. Freddy thought about Burton but I don't think he's an origin 7 in the slightest. I'd put Moses at the back of the pack and super surprised if he's picked. It would genuinely be a cop out if Hynes wasn't picked to start. Cleary --> Moses locked in. Egg in my face if it backfires!

Next question is who pairs best with Luai. I've got no bloody idea, but I don't reckon Luai's the best 6 for us in the Blues anyway...

JFH Has averaged a scarily consistent 51 when playing over 50 minutes as prop. 547k dude with one bye left is awfully succulent. Don't need his services for R19 either with Tapine, Horse, Hopgood in the mids (Bateman, Matto edges for that round). Seems a no brainer dude who can sit there at 17/18th man forever.

Fully agree with you on both of these things. Only getting one of JFH/Moses this week though so figure it might as well be JFH and then Moses next week juuuust in case.

This is how he traps you, he promises you a 50 average and then just plods along in the 40s, never bad enough to sell but never good enough to be a real keeper.

Carty to JFH for almost even money next week looks good on the surface.

Can't play Carty anyway due to owning Bateman + Preston

Although as I type this, I realise I already have one too many for round 19 with Tapine, Horsbrah, Harris, Hopgood, Preston, Bateman to fit into 5 spots... might be tricky in round 20 with Tapine/Hors on bye and Haas/Carrigan on back up duties and potentially rested.

Maybe let JFH go.

Pretty funny, will have only traded Carty back in for two games (rnd 13 and this week) before turfing him again. Probably should think things through more.

As someone who has had JFH for the byes/run home a number of times could I add that as long as you are prepared for around 40-50 every week from a not quite there 17/18th man it's a good deal but don't expect anything more from him. His minutes have been pretty inconsistent as well

Also both times I have had him he has either played smaller minutes or been rested in one of the final rounds plus picked up an injury/suspension and missed weeks in the run home.

Need a CTR for next week to complete the 13. Any option I should be looking at?

Christ I forgot I had harris too! But as you say, Tapine/Horse on bye so JFH will likely be needed regardless.

Especially with Cleary injured and Panthers likely to at least drop a couple games in that period, I don't think Panthers will have the luxury to rest. 1st pos definitely not locked up with the Broncos sniffing around. At this stage it looks like I'm going to carry a playable 19 given all the byes and such. I can't see a better option than JFH. Even happy with mid 40s given his juicy bye schedule.

If Bird doesn't play I'll run with 16

I accidentally started the season with Josh Hodgson and played him for the first four rounds.

I definitely have to pay more attention. Season full of "accidents".

I did the same thing re: Hodgson and never brought in Carty.... keep thinking about what could have been...
