Literally all halves have games like this where they overplay in an attempt to inspire their team. Hynes just so happens to be having his 'mare of a game right on the cusp of origin 2. If he had this game in round 4, no one would be batting an eye about it.

He was almost as bad last week. Non existent when his team needed him to step up in the 2nd half.

Well, whatever the defender does, if the player with the ball gets injured in the knee / leg during a tackle, that's a hip-drop.

Don't even think this was one. Unless I saw a bad angle, didn't look like Welch landed on his legs at all. Sure the tackle caused Hunt to get in an awkward position with his legs, but Welch didn't put pressure on them (unless the pressure can be "indirect"?)

    I didnt even see it.

Just funny how the hip drop problem basically disappeared a few weeks ago

Reynolds has shown he can win big games. Hynes hasn't even won a post season NRL game as a half.

    A sensible take?

You pick the guy for the last 2 years not the last 2 weeks

Reckon he might go a bit better when his middles aren’t Oregon Kaufusi, Royce Hunt, and Hamlin-Uele

He’s young and could be something great, Dally M player of the year, and he’s been in the NSW setup for a few years waiting for this moment.

Reynolds is an experienced game manager but a tier below rep standard and hasn’t been looked at for half a decade.

Can make more of a case for Moses but I’d back in the guy you were backing until two weeks ago

Scorers just gave up in the last 10 mins it seems. Should be decent updates for Grant and Hynes, especially that fucking TA.

He’s surplus to my R16 EDGs (Bateman and Preston) but then would be real useful in R17 with both those mentioned on bye so it’ll be a tough decision

I suppose if Bird is fit R17, could slot Bird/Lem in EDG for 1 week if necessary

So it seems Schrödinger’s Nicho is a thing now, Hynes is either the best player in the game or incapable of leading a team depending on which narrative fits mattnz’s fantasy team
