Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 14
RTS is a big question to answer before next weekend, seems like he's starting to find his feet & he could go absolutely massive against Newcastle...I can turn Taia into him through DPP if neccessary.

Well overall that puts me up by another 6 points.. 583 points with B. Lawrence, M. Taupau, D. Cherry-Evans, and B. Barba. Hoping to claw back the 10, 145 positions I have lost so far. However I am thinking A. Fifita, J. Trbojevic, T. Trbojevic, M. Parcell, and L. Brown will be owned enough to prevent that.surmo13 wrote:updates are through:

Well sheeeeit Carter going up to 69 points and that's probably still with -20 points give or take with the updates. I mean take out those errors and that's nearly 90 points without a try. Massive tackle count certainly helped with the weather making the game turn out the way it did but still what a fantasy player he'd be if he didn't give up like 12 points a week in stupidity.

I agree.. Bringing on Silva at the 77th minute?? taking the two starter props off at the 15th minute? Creagh playing in the middle for nearly 45 minutes and making 11 tackles??
Shame about Tohu being your C I like left field options for captains but unfortunately him being moved to the centres theres nothing you can do in that situation. What is your team looking like if you don't mind posting it up
Thanks man
I'm really hating this 8 interchange rule, no one asked for it and I swear they just did it for the sake of making rule changes every year. Purely from a safety perspective, I'd like to see injury stats at the end of this season, specifically during the last 15-20mins of games.
I built my team just for H2H's starting week 4, so I'm a bit midranger heavy for now.
HK: Randell, Parcell
FR: J Trb, Paasi, Campbell-Gillard, Gavet
SR: T Harris, Carter, Cartwright, Rochow(R), K Bromwich(R), LAM(R)
HF: Hastings, Milford, J Nik, Taylor
CE: CLaw, L Brown, J Roberts, Ferguson
FB: HHunt, Gutherson, Gordon, Barba, Feeney.
That's how I'll line them up for Rd 4, but with Cam and Ma'u in for Randell/LAM, barring midweek injuries. Eyeing Munster for Ferguson, but my front row needs work and this week's trades will burn most of the 353k I have spare.
Not to mention guys like Tolman, Fensom and RTS bleeding cash and needing to find a home..

I think a new rule for fantasy nrl should be, if your player doesn't play you get the best scoring NPR from the same position as injured player.
Would create whole new strategic element about balance and who to bench and would reward some depth which will unsettle my beloved Guns, Cows and 0pt NPRs method
In the case where you lose a hooker and had both in your 17 you flat out get zero.
Was thinking about this when getting JNik score for Scott instead of Gutherson or Mitchell who play in that position. I had Scott to start, my sub should be someone who plays his position/s, not some random low scorer who would t actually fit in my 17 if I fielded all positions properly

RTS looked back to his old self but so did Dugan and he will be a bit cheaper. Tough call on who to upgrade to

Why can't they just let us rank our subs and be done with it

Any news on Surgess and Merrin?
Seen an article saying Burgess has avoided a serious neck injury but nothing else and nothing on Merrin

I was really hoping that Inglis slotted that field goal and ran around celebrating before someone turned him around to look at the big screen like a real-life Zoolander moment.

Because people would abuse it as a loophole to get two cracks at every position.

Paul Carter and James Gavet will more than likely get a stint on the sidelines next weekend one thinks.

Morning gents. Not too bad this week so far. On 674 with DCE, Barba and W.Graham to play.
So assuming Sam Burgess isn't injured (From all reports things are looking positive. I personally hope he is fine.) and just requires a couple of weeks in the sidelines, is he a trade or a hold? Keep in mind I only traded him in this week.

I can cover him for a couple of weeks, may mean I need to keep LAM around a lil longer.
I feel that's the best way to go.

Have often thought the same, shouldnt be penalised for late changes. Scott out means i should have auvaa's score in my case.

An AE should be the player with the lowest score. If that means a negative score then so be it - tough shit. Everyone is in the same boat so there can be no complaints.

If we just had ranked subs, then you could get rid of rolling lockout.
You could also finally kill off captain's loophole. And it would eliminate the strategy of deliberately having 8/25 players never take the field. I think it's poor design that rewards people for deliberately picking guys that never play.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 14
I personally dont see a problem with people selecting 8 NPRs and running with an 17 man squad. It is an extremely risky strategy that can easily backfire so if they have a late withdrawal or a player go down in the warm up they can punished for it by not having another scoring player. Then again I ran with that strategy at the back end of last year and it worked so maybe thats why I have that opinion.Milchcow wrote:
