Haha to be honest I haven't been paying to much attention until I saw this post
Just trying to put a full team out each week to worry about BE and losing cash
Still interesting

I think your random MCK punt getting 200k at the start of the year few others on here got was the lever to really kickstart your push up the table (before trading Miller early, getting on Horse right time etc)

So would you suggest starting with Talakai or Burton on the bench again?
Perhaps I should have taken it a little more serious
MCK and Carty though to complete the meme bench worked out pretty well haha

You know every time someone compliments you/your team and you respond withContrastinghobby wrote:

"yeah well I'm not really trying I'm just fucking around and having fun"
it makes me (and probably others) feel really fucking stupid and bad at this game because believe it or not, most of us are trying really hard and not just half assing it. Can you do us a favour and say thanks and move on every once and a while?
Don't mean to be a dick it's just been grating on me recently.

Guess the lesson besides having fun is it’s easier to make these trades pre R1 as it’s only 1 trade out rather than trade in and out, so mid season cows are important to get right
Totally screwed up the mid season cows, missed Cogger and Simpkin, didn’t get Turpin until R16

Re: Team value rd 19 2023
I think the old wisdom of "race to 14m" is a bit outdated with the byes every round... think it was based on having min-priced players in 20 and 21 and a mid-priced in 19, whereas you now ideally want your 19/20 to be at least subguns, which pushes team value aims above 14.5m and towards 15m. I mean... I'm on 14.9m but don't think I'll be able to afford everybody I want.

Re: Team value rd 19 2023
I'm at 12.3mil + 450k itb.
I started in round 5 and had never played any fantasy game before, so didn't understand the concept of building team value fully. Had players like Coen Hess, etc. and focussed too much on covering every position on my bench. Took a few weeks to get the concepts and find resources to learn from (initially JB and Casual athlete on YT).
That said I expect to be somewhat competitive next year as I do petty well with game strategy.
I think being on this forum has really helped me get my head around the game fully, too.

@snatchpato Well whats wrong with that, maybe you should take the advice and move on
- Spoiler to avoid thread derailment:
- Perhaps taking things less serious will simplify things for you and allow you to make moves/risks you wouldn't normally
Ask yourself why you didn't make certain trades or why your team is in the position and learn from it
But don't get angry with me because you can't find enjoyment in this anymore
I have been playing this for years and taken things serious before putting a heap of time in here.
Less time now so I decided to take a different approach and just take this for what it is, a fun hobby
Maybe you should mix things up and try something different too, but don't blame me because you aren't having fun or things aren't going well.
Why not ask for advice, I have helped everyone who has asked and multiple people DM me all the time
Anyways whatever I say will be deemed as either arrogant or grating so I apologise and neither are the intention
When you reach a point in something that you don't find it fun anymore (Fantasy and forum) you either change or move on which is what I did
To be honest it gets to a point that whatever I say people wont be happy so I post and care less
It's a shame really as you and others seems like decent dudes and have been to multiple meetups before
Anyways the simple facts are that after june is goes from fun to luck so lets call it that from now on
Will put this down to you being frustrated and nothing more
Hope the rest of your season goes well mate

Ugh accidental downvote, sorry mate.
That's awesome having missed 4 weeks and a lot of the early cows. Enjoying your contributions to threads and looking forward to seeing what you can do next year with a full preseason
