My last original player. Was on the chopping block at R13 and R19, so done well

It’s just a shame all the outs play before the ins I want. Feels like a big leap of faith to do, say, Carrigan to Cleary. Or Carrigan to Fifita. I guess you don’t lose points at least when the tradeout is a red dot

    You "embed" the link

There's an icon that looks like </> in the tool bar

or just manually put [embed]  [/embed] tags around the tweet

Yeah, he's one of my originals and a personal favourite but looks like i'm going to pull the trigger on Carrigan to Cleary (I'm pretty sure Cleary's going to play and while it would be great to wait a week and pay less, he's one of only two players I'm really set on getting)

With all the uncertainty (SJ & Fifita in particular) I'm being forced into an elaborate setup involving placing two non playing mids in my 13 to ensure that all spots are covered in any of the auto replacement scenarios while leaving all my trade options open...what could possibly go wrong?

Also keeping Bula for another week seems like a sensible play given that he is actually playing

Kudos to Robbo & Kevvy for being transparent. They could have easily sat on that info til the last team announcement.

Is Fifita in doubt due to back tightness any better than Fifita being in doubt due to a hip-pointer?

Quite annoying that Titans play last this week.

Yeah definitely. Especially since these outs have been sprung a day before the game.

Agree. I was going VTW to Fifita and blow the bank. Was wanting to go Ted to DCE but would have to be Tapine due to funds. If Fifita was in any doubt though that would change trading Tapine out.

Maybe Grant and DCE is the play this week and be cautious with Fifita, who knows.

I saw this article on the ABC site today and realised just how much I value being a part of this little community.

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-07-14/middle-aged-men-experiencing-high-level-loneliness/102563492

(Don't laugh at me cause I have no clue about how to add links etc.)

But, as an official Old Fart (on the other side of 50) I've been through what this article is saying.
When family, work and life just become busy, men do drift along and let real friendship fade away.
I have one mate from high school, which is pretty lame.

So, can I put a call out to all of you who make this place what it is.
The shit-posting, great advice, the support I saw shown to Rabbits21 when his grandma passed, the support for one of our number when he let us know that his missus had breast cancer, the arguments over where the correct place to store sauce is (obviously the fridge), even allowing me to post about my faith and not kicking me to the curb.

    I appreciate you all.

L-Jimmy, never stop being a passionate Queenslander. The Origin is only as much fun as the rivalry.
Booze, you have always remained humble and offer really good advice, even to stupid queries, Milchy, you deserve you Immortal status.

From the oldies who've been on here forever to the newbies who've added so much (Garethellisismydad) this forum has been a really great safe space for (mostly) guys, but all are welcome.

For you younger guys - who haven't hit 35 - what this article talks about is real. Keep working on your friendships, they really can save your life.

    So, thanks for being legends.

    The Bludger

Awesome post and love that you shared this @The Bludger#2

I think thats the important thing that gets lost here sometimes that this is like one big weird family
Sure you have the weird uncle or the annoying kid brother and people disagree or have the odd argument
Nothing wrong with some healthy debate as long as you don't keep playing the man, but I hope we don't lose that

But at the end of the day you have to remember why you are here
You are on a niche website talking about a niche sport game that gets talked about very little most of the time
This could be thai fantasy crab racing and I would still probably be here and still find a way to select a hooker in my team haha

People approach this game differently too
Some pour every minute into it, stats, podcasts, spreadsheets and over analyse every minor thing though share too
Others may take the opposite approach where perhaps life or their own approach has changed and have simplifed things.

The key is to remember that it takes a lot of work to keep this community what it is, so remember that as most of these places have now gone.
So make sure to thank people who create or take the time to share as without this we don't have anything

Speaking from experience real life gets often mixed into here too
I had a year a while back where 3 close deaths in the family was rough but then my daughter was born a few years ago so theres good too
So went from more free time spent here to less and perhaps that provided some change in how I approached this game too
You have to remember that people go through all sorts and this 'game' may be their release

In a world where everyone is super busy with work, family and going through pressures its nice to have somewhere safe to go
Perhaps organise or attend a meetup too, it's easy to make an excuse but worth it in the end
It's great to put a real face behind the avatar but also understand that we are real people too

Would anyone happen to know what score would get Cleary to drop 50k roughly?

    TU: Haas
    TD: Tedesco

99% trading Tedesco but want to see what the forum thinks

Do I trade Teddy to Edwards and hold Bula now? I have 5 out.

    Or trade Haas out?

Thanks mate. A 60 or even 70 seems way more likely so I guess he won’t actually drop too much, unless I wait a further week
