My guess is the stars aligned for McInnes last week to play 80 and break the record - won't happen again anytime soon

If you got him last week then great, but I'd approach with caution and expect a high 40, low 50 score from him now. Or he just randomly keeps playing 65min and averages 60 - who knows

Coach pretty much said in the presser that they left him out there so he could break the record.

I liked him better at last week's price. I was definitely interested in him but just don't think I could wrangle it now, with Latrell also in my sights.

Yeah, not expecting huge minutes but hoping for last week's PPM to hopefully continue. Really not sure what to do with this one.

    Huge loss for the cowboys

My passport to Fifita is Drinkwater.

If I don't do it this week, may not have the funds to do it using one trade next week.

This is where there has been this confusion (and rightfully so) as the independent doctor is assessing if an HIA is required and if so what level. They aren't assessing the concussion itself, they can't do that from replays. I don't think the category of the HIA actually has any impact on the 11 day stand down, that applies if a player is conifrmed to have suffered a concussion regardless of the initial HIA category.

This is Annesley's explanation from earlier in the year with the Turbo one.

    https://www.sportingnews.com/au/rugby-league/news/nrl-concussion-protocols-11-day-stand-down-rule/nc8wyzkcxbtjvqdl5psvgued

Admittedly haven’t clicked the link yet (think I’ve heard it before) but for me the confusion lies in the fact that everyone initially read it as if you had Cat 1 HIA symptoms there was an 11 day stay down with very few exceptions. Then Turbo and Manly decide “yeah nah he was never concussed after all it just looked like it” and get away with it.

Null appears different in that Dolphins appear to be contesting cat 1 symptoms were shown, and I think on the video they can probably argue that, but I have no idea who makes the final call.

I can almost guarantee if someone is concussed the week before the grand final now a club will contest that their player should play because of how the NRL has managed it. And that the media will report on concussion incorrectly. And fans will be confused. And years from now the lawsuits will come.

Having read a few of these judiciary live blog now, JDBs case was actually decent but with his rep he was up the creek. Holmes was terrible, as soon as your comparing to other tackles it’s no dice. With the bye he’s now done until week 1 of finals, if Cowboys even make it.

Either way it still needs an independent doctor to sign off to say there was no signs of concussion (after being assessed properly)

Whether or not the fans are confused? I dunno, i dont care i guess. Fans arent experts on concussions. It aint up to me and it aint my lawsuit

Dumb challenge tbh given it ticks all the boxes for a suspendible hip drop as per the Annesley’s brief but I suppose you roll the dice at this stage of the season with not much to play for.

I’d have loved the confusion too but the NRL grading system is so mental that it’s almost impossible to get a 1-2 week suspension. Nearly everything is fine until it’s 2-3 or 3-4 weeks

    The holmes arguments were laughable

The defense for holmes argued that he wouldnt have hit campvell in the head if he wasnt in the action of catching and passing

So he wouldnt have hit him in the head if.. he wasnt playing football?

Yeah, it was Chad when Holmes was missing for Origin. Would be nice if it was Drinky though.

Have to decide on a Mid to replace JDB. Carrigan and Murray are out since they have byes during H2H playoffs so it will probably come down to AFB, Tapine, Mofo, McInnes or even Sorensen.

Just don't have a lot of faith any of them.

I can get anyone except Yeo or Haas for JbB, probably not a HLF since I have 5. No idea yet. 17 actually looks ok but seems crazy to wait a week

Probably going to be boring and get Yeo in for JDB this week. But part of me thinks Barnett scores a try in all of the Wahs remaining games
