VSDT 2024

Time to get this thread under way.
I started last years sportdesk thread and had my best season ever.
Suspect déjà vu won't work again.

But now we have a place to discuss VSDT stuff this year.

Hey all looking forward to another year... i've been ordinary the past 3 years after a good 3 years before that... hopefully i am the 2nd coming of Shaun Johnson this year

I haven't been as fantasy mad as I was maybe 5 years ago, still going to participate out of habit but I dare say my best years are behind me given how I've been over the last couple..

Anyone got a Dreamteam league to join.

Hey mate. I sent you a PM about the settings for the VSDT leagues.

So like NRL fantasy do we need to have a full team selected before the first games to have a valid team?

My understanding is that VSDT requires us to have 25 players prior to the first lockout of Round 1.

From their Help pages:

Select Your Complete Team

Your first task is to select a squad of 25 players who will carry your hopes for season 2024. Remember, you MUST select a squad of 25 players before the beginning of the next upcoming round in order to be entered in the competition and score points. All players are available for selection to all participants.

You'll not score any points if your team is incomplete and you'll not be entered in the public and private league games. Your team will be removed from leagues if it's incomplete at the start of the upcoming round.

Have you? From what I can see:

NW league settings need to be changed so that
- START ROUND 1 (not 2)

League 1 settings need to be changed so that
- SKIP BYES = Yes (not No)
- SECONDARY LADDER RANK = Points Difference (not Total Points)

League 2 settings need to be changed so that
- SKIP BYES = Yes (not No)
- SECONDARY LADDER RANK = Points Difference (not Total Points)

NB: The settings required to run a H2H (not Open) league of 20 teams, so that each team plays every other team exactly once (i.e. over 19 rounds), are:

START ROUND = 1*
SKIP BYES = YES*
SECONDARY LADDER RANK = Points Difference (which is the standard way teams on equal competition points are sorted on a H2H ladder)

* H2H  comp starts in Round 1 and ends in Round 22, with the 3 major bye rounds skipped (Rounds 13, 16, and 19), to give the  required 19 H2H rounds (i.e. 22 - 3 = 19).

Looking for opinions on this. Brimson is obviously a place holder until TLT2 I'm also using kini as a placeholder as there seems to be limited money making potential if he only gets 3-4 weeks.

Sitili Tupouniua probably not a pick on here hey? Averaged 37 and 36 in 2021 and 2022 when played 70 minutes. BE of 33. Missed so many tackles those years to hurt his scores even with all the tries.
-3 for missed tackles in this format is a killer.
Or will he improve on not missing so many tackles playing bigger minutes again.
