Okay, may as well jot a few thoughts as I browse today's scores. I was watching scores tick over at the start of the Tigers match and searched Seyfarth's name on the forum when he stopped scoring and when I found out he'd been hooked I decided to go for a surf at my local reef break and dig my head into the reef. I jest, it was always on the cards but when I was out there I did almost allow Seyfarth to hinder my enjoyment, but thankfully it was too enjoyable to have any impact. Empty local breaks. Is there anything better? I think not.
Anyway, got through all the games with Kayo catch-up at 1.5x speed and just looking through some scores;
Hosking - I started last year with Trindall and kept that in my mind this year when I picked Tuaupiki, Smithies, Kini and even Wong and Sitili. Some of these (possible) short term prospects can be very well worth the gamble, but when Hosking appeared on that second team list it was just one too many for me to take that punt. Didn't think he'd be getting 90's, of course, but him scoring well was never in doubt. Easy to say now, but definitely should have taken this punt too. Ricky may be a madman, but can't see how he brings Whitehead back in for Hosking. Too late for me to jump on now, though, sadly.
Fainu - could be a straight swap for Seyfarth next week? If I can afford it, based on what Seyfarth will lose and Fainu will make. Sure the rotation was a mess but dude looks likely.
Fogarty - he's an interesting one. Disappointed I didn't keep him in my squad (had him all pre-season, but at 11th hour decided I needed Ponga) but on the other hand his scores aren't crucifying non-owners. Would definitely like them on my scorecard, though.
Strange - this made me happy.
Galvin - as did this.
Tapine/Bateman - could easily turn it around as soon as next week, but hopefully some cheeky little price drops.
Levi - I guess for now he's a hold as long as he's scoring tries, but obviously the moment he stops scoring tries his (slow) upward price rises are ended and he's going to need to go asap. And I need another hooker option for Grant's bye, is also an obvious thing.
Seyfarth - I've mentioned him enough today, but as I look past today's blinding sadness, I wonder if there's any way he gets a second chance next week and even if he does, if I'd stick around or just pivot to one of the better options, of which I believe there will be several. Absolutely despise the idea of reversing a trade in one week, but some players kind of leave you no other choice, and I think this may be one of them.
This'll be long, so I might end this bombardment of thoughts before I open up the next match.
