Sportal was the website now known as SportingNews
It used to have a sports forum. A few of us were on there and then it became very apparent they were not putting anything into the forum and were going to eventually decomission it.
Some bright sparks decided to create their own forum and slowly invite people from Sportal over to the new digs. That new forum is where we are today, many moons later.
Well, congratulations to the visionaries and pioneers who made the Fanatics happen.
As a newby (sort of) I appreciate it.

Depending on how he goes, a straight switch to Taylan May be possible next week

Congrats anyone that traded in Angus. I thought about it, but didn't have the cojones to go through with it

Very grateful I had to trade Piakura to get 17 green dots and Angus was the only decent option I could afford. Finally a bit of luck (I'm sure it wont last).

Dom Young on -10 has to be close to a record, surely?

There were some absolutely ball tearing times. Tim Gerry Mander had late mail that was an absolute must read. Hilarious stuff. Sportingnews was embarrassed by the forum so didn't link it anywhere, so you could only get to Sportal if you were told about it. I got in as a mod right before Muzzo went nuclear on the AFL forum and basically killed that side of the site. SI and Milch would message me to close a thread and start a new one because that was the only way it could function.
I'm pretty sure we've got it somewhere but the Sizzler Thread is basically our Book of Feuds. Then the folklore tale of Mitch222 and his meltdown. It bought Hench, Rabbits and myself onto the same side, something unheard of at the time.
