Yes its all good until they dont do it, NRL has a massive issue with consistency

The Schneider and Ilias ones the defender initiated contact while they were in the air kicking, Grant was running perpendicular to Atkinson and Atkinson’s foot connected with Grant

Just saw the Schneider one and that was 100x worse (if the injury he just got)

Did you actually watch it? He was just after the peak of his kick when it dropped onto Grant's thigh, and then he lost his footing and balance. He then casually continued jogging on. Sure he winked at Grant, but he didn't exactly milk it if he didn't play for it (like SJ did a few weeks ago).

Also they obviously didn't take it into account because they are applying a consequence to Grant's actions, not whether it hurt the player or not.

Jeez, I'm all for that contact on a kicker's leg rule being enforced, but not with a blanket ruling like that. If it was actually dangerous contact, then yeah, send him to the bin... but that was not a dangerous example of that indiscretion.

I was watching it all at double speed on Kayo to get up to date so I could watch more of my players tank live, and I thought with 100% conviction he'd been sent to the bin for backchat after seeing how minimal the contact was. Now I find out it was actually for the contact. I just can't agree with that one at all.

Had a look at HT to see Fa’alogo to see a healthy 25 and now he’s just dropped to 18. Can’t wait for this week to end.

This for sure. You'll hear me saying the exact same thing if it was Teddy who ran into someone's leg mid-kick.

@Camo123 of course the situations aren't identical, but Atkinson's leg was in the act of kicking when Grant made contact with it. Did it hurt him? No. Was it as "bad" as the one on Ilias? No. I completely agree. However unless we want them penalising based on whether someone is injured or not (spoiler: we don't), they've got to be harsh on this sort of thing to try and stamp it out of the game.

Just out of curiosity. Since these are the official stats of the NRL. Does it impact Hookers contracts as they think they are getting 10-15 TAs a year when in reality they're getting 0?

Why wouldnt you sign massive KPIs for a dummy half TAs knowing it wont have to be paid out

They had given him a TO for stopping a try that was actually scored and a MT instead.
