Community team bye planning strategy R1213

Here's our team. We have 13(+Cool trades left with $143k in the bank

Rather than come up with trade plans last minute every week, will put this thread up for discussion to talk about players we might want to target (until they get injured, or a surprise origin call-up)

Post ideas here for who we can target going into/out of the big bye rounds
There's a few teams where R13 is their 2nd bye, so getting players from them R14+ is good for coverage. Like most we're not super high on trades, so don't want too many temporary members of our squad. Almost every trade in from this point has to stay in the team until the end, so we should plan around that happening

Here's our bye planning as it stands

R16 is pretty poor, but everything else is looking OK at this point (R14 could be trouble if people don't back up from game 1. R17 and R20 possible issues too)
This has Haas, Cotter, Crichton, Hynes, Walsh  playing origin, which is probably worst case from our current squad.

Similar numbers each bye round to my team - you can determine if that is good or bad!

But I don't think it's in bad shape. Like most teams will have to pump the brakes and only react to the never ending fantasy-relevant injuries when we need to for the next couple.

Can wait to 14/15/16 to act on R16 numbers

With Origin, it would be mindblowing to me if Hynes isn't picked but also not surprising if they lose G1 and he's scapegoated out. Meanwhile Angus is seemingly considered a given, but I don't know if he is. Other 3 will play Origin if fit

Community team bye planning strategy R1313

We are looking at potentially 12 this week, but 2 hookers so 11 playable.
How many trades do we want to spend getting a team this week?

Hynes and Crichton the 2 tempting trade outs given their origin schedules, and they give us enough cash to get anyone we'd like.

Bring in Manu and Teddy, move Weeks to half and Armstrong to wfb?
    Maybe Preston/Elliot/Curran/Ming to field a full 13?

....or roll the dice on Moses?

Would just be playing with 11 at the moment I think right?

Piling up WFBs but Angus to Teddy seems pretty obvious.

Curran or Preston could be another useful in if we want to run 13 but not super necessary.

Angus to Ted and Hynes to maybe Ming? Should leave enough to upgrade someone next week to Fifita??

    Angus to Teddy makes sense

And then play with 12 or trade in a MID/EDG
I think its only worth it if we see long term value in a trade in, rather than just chasing points for this week.

We're currently at 5 outs for next week, before considering who backs up from origin (Hynes unlikely, Walsh and Haas maybe) so bringing in a Dolphin probably a bit risky (Aitken/Lemuele otherwise decent shouts)
There's a few options Leilua, Nikora, Cartwright, Preston, Ming

Hands not much use to us positionally so may as well pass on him

    Any other options?

Damn that Teddy trade-in/captain lock hurts. Looking ahead to round 16 do we think he plays Origin 2? If not, he's a hold but if he does then I think we should look at trading him back out. Hynes too.

Looking at round 16, we need at least a MID, an EDG and a CTR or WFB so I'd be tempted to go with the crowd and get Fifita and Twal. And maybe Hughes to Wighton too.

I think we hold Teddy this week at least - see what happens with Edwards for R15 and that might help make a decision for us.

Have to be careful trading out all our keepers, as going to be hard to get them back in

Post origin we have Teddy, Walsh, Hynes all potential trade outs. Think its worth holding on to as many as possible, to help save trades for the run home

    Walsh is the clearest trade

Misses 14, 15 (HIA), 16 (bye), potentially 17 (backup in NZ after Origin), 19, 24

@L-Jimmy we do already have JMK, probably not good enough to trade in twice

Community team bye planning strategy R1613

Only 8 green dots this week

Only 7 trades left, so how hard do we want to go to get numbers?

Papenhuyzen looks tempting. Are there any keeper MID/EDGs that we want to bring in

Koloa, Tapine, Tohu, Atiken are possibilities.

Not sure there is anyone with a good enough combo of job security + cheap price to bring in as a cash out

I think Brailey and Preston go. Maybe Garrick unless we want to hold him for the rest of the season.

Aitken in. Possibly Utoikamanu in. And maybe a playing cashout to make space for Cleary? Lawton in the halves could score well for the byes. Simpkin even? Not sure when Croker is back....
