Or reduce the season to a sensible number of weeks?
They do this shit in the AFL and it's awful. The reality is if you're 1-4 and win in the first week of the finals you get another week off. So you play potentially two games of football in a month, with the second game being the game to make the grand final.

I wouldn't mind if they gave everyone the week off on origin weeks. The games are often a bit shit with so many good players out, and it would give players a better chance to get over injuries

Jeez, trying to pick two of KPP, Fainu, Strange and Weekes to turn into Cleary is doing my head in.
Positionally, Weekes is the one I technically need to keep most of all, as I'll need a WFB for the next two weeks, but he's the one I see losing most cash, so he's actually the one I want to punt most of all. And then sort out the best affordable WFB option next week with either Fainu or KPP, who I'm leaning towards holding this week... or maybe one of my other dudes gets injured. Who knows?
The other one on my mind is Hughes... if he spuds again, especially with Munster back, do I use him to go to Ponga next week? Could be tempting.
Many questions, but looking to part ways with Strange and Weekes this week, against my better judgement, as I would play KPP and/or Fainu over them if I had to pick (I've had to pick one this week and gone with Fainu, with KPP out).
I actually legit had a dream/nightmare last night that Weekes scores 134 on the weekend, lol.
End pointless spiel.

Hey mate I like that strategy a lot. Obviously if you get a couple of injuries the next few weeks even having 3 trades left for the last 3 weeks is a good place to be.standard-issue wrote:
Interesting to read the differing strategies and mine is to save trades. Personally used more trades than I hoped for over the last 2 weeks (6 used) but Cleary in is obviously a must.
I'm left with 5 and happy-ish with my team (backs a bit weak). Those 5 trades I am hoping to hold for the last 3 Rounds. Will mean I have the likes of Hands and Strange and Sipley hanging around my Emergencies instead of upgrading them.
Will cost me points over the next month; but if it goes to shit again then gives me the advantage in the last few weeks.
My trades last week and week before in round 19 were….
Round 19:
Hynes to JC
Round 20:
Aitken to Cleary
Api to Curran
Pryce to I. Tago
Leaves me 5 trades left now was thinking of trading Plath out but am now leaning to holding and just playing Samuela Fainu over him this week. If Plath shits the bed next two weeks then I could look at a Murray or Hosking.
Was weighing up Trindall this week and Wilton was another but Talakai can take mins off Wilton so I’ll stay clear. My hooker cover for Mahoney is Hands so think I’ll get Starling looks good for a 55-65mins role from here should be a mid 40’s guy I reckon I’m happy with that.
Leaves this (13.2mil team value so not as strong as others) but best I can do……
4 trades 125k spare and
Mahoney
Tapine Haas Curran
Fifita Sorensen
Cleary Galvin
Iro Wighton
Garrick Teddy Drinky
JC Dylbags Starling S. Fainu
Plath I. Tago Hands S. Hughes

Liking the Tapine pick there Rabs. Bit of a left field one but reckon he goes well for you.Rabbits21 wrote:

Thanks mate I did KPP to Tapine back in round 15. Tapine has avg 55.6 for me the last 5 games. I got him at 682k priced at 49 so happy about that. He’s avg 54mins as well a week the last 5 games so that’s about where I want him to be.Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:

Also feel this year with all the carnage it’s better not to cash out to a red dot as that could hurt down the line.
Well done on managing your trades well again mate I am backing you for a ripper end to the season you should make lots of ranks.
Losing big cash on Hynes, Grant and Dylbags is what hurt me.
Picking Wighton up at 393k worked out well though. Avg 50.5 for me the last 6 weeks 303 points in 6 games. Was expecting low 40’s from him so he’s gone better than I thought.
Missing out on Wishart hurt me a lot too.

Would be unhelpful having wishart benched and losing value, if Munster plays

Not owning Hynes at any point this year and Cleary on 3 different occasions has definitely made this year tougher than it’s needed to be, but things are looking up so yeah finish well and look forward to the next one.

Yeah, I grabbed Tapine Rd 15 as well. He has been giving some scares with pretty average first stints-sometimes he'll be sitting on low 20's and you wonder if he is going to even make it to 40.
He hasn't quite hit the highs of his historical bye round runs. But he is 20 rounds in and hasn't scored a meatie yet, so is definitely due.

If you can bring in Haas (or Cleary, or Yeo, or Fifita or any of the guys in the upper tier of scoring) in a single trade. Then yes, you should make that trade this week. Its going to be a clear upgrade on points for whoever you trade out.

I reckon he scores this week against my boys. I’m not sure our weakened pack will be able to put their middles down with who we have out.
