Yep I had NFI, was on team pled.Mearcats wrote:So Corey Norman has pleaded guilty to possession of illicit drugs... Two things come from the writing of this. A) what punishment do we thing he will A.a) get and A.b) deserve? And B) who the fuck knew that pleaded was actually the correct word to use in this statement???

Pleaded is the standard past tense and past participle of the verb plea. Pled has always been considered incorrect by people who make such judgments, but it is so common that we have to accept it as an alternative form. And pled is not just an Americanism, as some have claimed. It appears just as often (about one pled for every twenty pleadeds) in current British and Canadian news publications. Australians are the exception; they still seem to shun pled almost completely.

Welshy, LB and other SL followers, how does Jordan Turner go? Just signed by Raiders for two seasons starting next year, sounds like a depth signing to me and can't say I've heard to much of him from the little I've managed to follow here.

Anyone thinking about Robson? If Norman is out for a few weeks+ then someone will need to kick the ball...

very decent mate not sure where he fits in though, saints tried to plug him in at 6 at the start of the season and it failed miserably but he is a quality centre, won't beat out BJ and Croker though so I find it a bit of an odd signing
Like a cannonball the kid is in attack, bounces off a fair few

I suspect Ricky is a little concerned about our depth. We have a few guys up and coming who could step into FG soon (Ottio, Cotric (Young U18's gun) etc.) but losing Sisa earlier this year and with rumours around Brenko going (there always are) perhaps Stick wants someone with a bit more experience so he's not pushed into blooding someone too early. With Hodgo, Lima, Sia going so well I'll back the clubs judgement whatever the reason, just nice to hear its not some crazy signing.

I suspect Ricky is just a complete fuckin moron, a sentiment that I feel is shared with others on here...

That's a fair point! Wouldn't have a crack at him until they've met with the NRL though.EvenSteeden wrote:Anyone thinking about Robson? If Norman is out for a few weeks+ then someone will need to kick the ball...

So Norman's gonna be out for a while?
Even if he is i dont think its worth taking a punt on an unkown at this time of the season

Almost traded in Dugan recently. Glad I didn't now that he is gone for 4-6 weeks.

Very average. Can play centre, five eighth or back row, none of them particularly well. He might be decent backline cover but is several levels down from Hodgson or Whitehead when they left ESL.

Gallen is tempting me but I have a big bank so the 40k difference isn't a worry.Dananz wrote:ET to De Belin or Gallen?

I don't see any conceivable reason anyone would ever think of bringing Robson in. As a cash-out he's not bargain basement price and he's a terrible scorer so even as an 18th/19th man option I wouldn't go there. Could get all the kick metres but won't run the ball and will miss a fair few tackles

I'm back from Fiji , here are this week's BEs (although they should be irrelevant for the most part)
Unless you are super-awesome-trade-saving man you should just be bringing in guns now, and the sooner the better. in most cases, better to get the points than to save $10k

Good points. Might we worth just keeping an eye on how he goes this week and reassess - De Gois or Edwards/Takarangi aren't playmakers so there's definitely the need for someone to step up.
Despite what Johnny's been saying
