I just got Mannering in. Do I keep him? He only scored a 40 odd last game when Hoffman was out.

Wacko a bit all over the place as usual. No idea really reading into it. He says Talakai a chance to play if fit, so maybe just keep that in mind if you are loop-holing. With Talakai, Ese, Munster and Manu all floating around, I don't think I will be able to loophole.

I think Maranta comes in with Glenn moving back to second row and Kahu moving to centre.

While the loophole is great some people (myself included) might be getting a bit carried away with it.

loopholing someone who scores 75 over someone who scores 55 is only a 20 point difference in your total score.
I currently have less than 17 players playing.

I would rather have a full 17, having faith that my 17th player (if one comes in) can score more than 20 points.
If you've got 17 players then great but I'd rather have 18 players than 16 and be able to loophole.

This is great logic and point of view. Thumbs up.

Saying that, I'd rather Ese not play though. Beer

Who would you go instead? Kinda want De Belin, but would rather wait until the actual Warriors game.

I would go De Belin for sure. More of a differential as well.

No mate, the whole strategy has completely changed for loopholing.  It is no longer really a way to get a huge Captain's score, it is more a safe bet at a second bite of the Captaincy cherry.  With the changes to the rule the Loophole is only really an option now with 17 or less.  It is pretty much redundant with 18 or more players because you now lose that score that you had the C on UNLESS you have 17 or less.

That is why a 60 or 70 now is loophole territory whereas before 80 or 90 plus used to be loophole territory.  Under the old system it was only wise to do it with that MASSIVE score of 80 plus.  It is completely different now and is used as a "bird in the hand" way of securing a solid Captain score in bye rounds or rounds where you have 17 or less.

Your last line is exactly right.  That is why it is more the safe play strategy now, not necessarily to try to get the biggest Captain score, but to get a safe Captain score without the potential to lose your original Captain's score.

This is fucking my head now, I've gone from JBrom and Mannering but now with the potential of Mannering moving to 2nd row again, I've completely changed my thinking. Now thinking Gallen and Hunt. Am I crazy?

As a man that's just gone through the Ben Hunt horror show I recommend not getting on that train. Not until he at least starts showing some hint of attacking form. I unfortunately have to sit by and wait for that to happen.

I like Cordner as well. Tough call between Cordner & De Belin. I'd say JDB will score more points but not by much but Cordner owned by 917 as opposed to 7,680 for JDB. JDB is all base stats & workrate whereas as Cordner is less busier on the edge & relies on attacking plays to compensate for less tackles. I'd go JDB.

Thanks boys, but I think I'm all of a sudden sold on Gallen, I think the Sharks are gonna take so much confidence out of that origin win and storm home.  I have no issues if I were to run Gallen and Fifita.

Garbo, I went through the Milford horror show too and sold him last week.  I have a feeling though they will carve the rabbits up tomorrow night.  I think Hunt's gotta come good, I guess I'm a sucker for punishment.  Hunt's gotten a 41 and 43 the last two games also, which isn't horrible.

    After this bipolar brain explosion, team would look like;

    Smith (Friend)
    Fifita Gallen (Ese Leulani)
Surgess Merrin Carty (ET SST Talakai)
    SJ Hunt (Cleary Feeny)
    Aitken BJ (Claw Guth)
    Barba Mitchell Munster (Copley Manu)

Next week I downgrade SST probably and upgrade Claw to Teddy! Have 9 trades left and 5K.

Alright for both of our sake's I'm hoping Hunt explodes. I've also got Gallen in this week now that Thompson's out so big minutes backing up from Origin would be nice.

Looking at your team I'd be more inclined to downgrade CLaw and Guth and get another boom forward in. Much more reliable scoring and I don't like the idea if downgrading a solid scorer in SST just to bring someone in a less reliable position (even though he has a high average).
