White Lightning wrote:Which one to come in for Tedesco:
(a) C. Walker or
(b) SKD or
(c) Peachey
Currently thinking (a) with his move to the halves due to possible A-Rey season ending injury.
If A-Rey is ok I'll go (b).

Next year we need to implement a forum wide rule. Nobody is allowed to trade anyone out after they've posted their lowest score for the year.
It's happened so many times this year and every time they've come back to start hitting their averages again.
Trade whitehead out after a 30? his 4 previous scores to that he averaged 55.
Graham has scoffed under 50 twice since round 5.
Some people here seem to expect their players to beat their average every single week, and get disappointed when it doesn't happen.

Bit rough Mr Cow!
I traded out Whitehead, but it wasn't simply based of his score or 30.
His 4 scores prior to that he averaged 55 sure, but if you looked at his 3 week scores including that 30, he was awfully close to averaging mid 30's on base stats. He scored two tries in rd 21 which meant his 3 rd average was higher, but I was concerned that might be hiding something. He looked to be making less tackles and runs and given we'd recently tightened up our defence a lot I started to think maybe a slight change in the structures (like defending a little wider later in the set or having a better defensive prop inside or something) meant it might be the norm for him for the rest of the season.
It also wasn't just about who I'd be getting rid of, but who I would be gaining. Looking at Thompson for the year, he just seemed to have much more consistent scores with the same upside if not bigger. I reasoned that although he might only average 5 or so more than Whitehead, given there was only 4 weeks left, it was better to have a consistent scorer rather than risk an up and down player entering a trough in those final few weeks.
Didn't work for me this time but it has in the past and I've gone from high 20K in the first few weeks to sitting 598 this week so I'd be mad to go away from it now.

I agree Archer. I sold Whitehead this week to bring in Tedesco. The last few weeks I have been choosing my 17th man from J.McGuire/E.Whitehead and N.Cleary so I probably had too much depth while I was using Gutherson as my 3rd fullback and felt I needed Tedesco in there.
While watching Whitehead closely, it was frustrating watching B.Austin play inside him, overusing him as a decoy to go out the back or SO MANY times stepping off his right foot and going back inside and I too felt that Whitehead's 3 round average was inflated by those 2 tries and while Austin was there, tries won't be happening often.

Being a wise guy here,
If we follow this rule nobody is allowed to trade after round 1
And some people won't be allowed to trade at round 2 either.
I am just being a smart arse though
So you're responsible.Pacey's Best wrote:
