Ah right, was confused there for a sec Laughing

Definitely going to be competition for spots in that Melbourne back line.

Why do so many people have Gutherson? Do they really think he'll average over 40?

Due to him being the goal kicker this year so it's an extra 4-8 points.

Not going anywhere near him at this stage, but he has looked tremendous at the Nines in all aspects (and yeah, I get it's Nines).

The good thing with Gutherson is he's dpp hlf/wfb so you can put him at f/b & his average is acceptable for wfb. I think his scoring range will be 35-45 with the occasional 50+.

As above mentioned, getting Gutherson at fullback should be more consistent than other WFB with less chance of those sub 20 scores. Also has good byes and no origin and probably a little undervalued (see him averaging around 40-45.

To me though it's at fullback or not at all

Could say the same about Thurston too, he played terrible.
I think the eels backs look good this year and can see him getting a few LBA as well, he is quite big too and can break a tackle/offload...bonus points if he kicks too

Will all come down to how I can fit him in, problem is once you definitely take Hayne and RTS it starts to get crowded for spots there to fit everyone in without overspending (especially when you have smith)

I guess if you go heavy in WFB, you are going to be relying on some mid range forwards so there is potential to get it wrong and then you are flapped , ie last years Ah Mau, Grant, Evans, Sue, Liu

As some have mentioned it is easier to guess backs minutes/role

    Yep - ditto.
Post Nines injury tinkering (say that 3 times fast):

    Smith/Morts
    Fifita/JWall/Hoare/Gurgess
    Surgess/Podene/SMat/KBrom/Stimson/BGray
    Norman/Lamb/Elgey/Hingano
    Whare/Idris/Scott/RJennings
    RTS/Hayne/Pythian/JDrew
    16K

Should be enough cash in halves to upgrade soonish. Points are made up with stronger, bankable fwds.
Norman is changeable with BHunt or Cronk
Holmes is changeable with French. Pythian I'm temped to change with Ponga pending TLT.

Croft did a complete 180 in my eyes today. Led the team around the park, kicked well, ran the ball when he had the chance and played what was in front of him.

I think Ponga's worth keeping around as a NPR and waiting for him to get into the team. It's only 9's footy but even in his very first NRL game he showed he has a tendency to break tackles and be very elusive.
Coote was shocking at times last year and I don't think it matters that Ponga's leaving at the end of the year if he makes it so Green has no choice to pick him over Coote. Even on the wing he can probably make some decent metres and busts.

If there's nobody outright appealing in Round 1 team lists in the backs I'm sticking with Ponga

I'd say Ponga is behind Bowen & Moseley. He's off to the Knights in 2018 so the Cowboys won't play him unless there's a lot of injuries. Why play Ponga when they can develop someone is staying at the Cowboys. The only real hope for Ponga to play first grade is if he gets an early release to the Knights.

Green must consider him useful in 2017 to not let him go early. Not best 17 but as injury cover. He'll no doubt play some nrl this year but i wouldnt have him in fantasy just waiting.

Hes another one of those types who could beat three defenders but not actually earn a TB

    Post Nines team:

    Smith King
    Fifita McGuire Hoare Gray
Surgess ET Gallen Hess Kennendy Stimson
    Norman Lamb Elgey Hingano
    Hurrell Idris Scott Kelly
RTS Hayne Slater Jennings Mosby 16k

King looked solid enough without setting the world on fire. If no bench hooker he's in I think expecting high 30's. Norman could be DCE if injured. I've gotten rid of SJ for now, Lamb should make cash hoping for lots of km's.

For some reason Young Tonumaipea seems to start every year in first grade and then disappear after a month or 2.

2016 -played 7 times in first 8 rounds, then just 5 more times in the next 18 (one of those 5 was an 8 minute bench appearance)

2015 - played first 4 rounds, then never again all season

2014 - played first 15 rounds, then never again

    Must be great at pre-season

Absolute lunacy changing fantasy team based on nines

I recommend people spend some time downloading some of the FoxSport market watch podcasts, I listen to them during my commute home from work, only problem is my commute is 10-15 mins tops,

It would more useful for you capital city folk who spend an hour or more travelling.

I think for the most part people are just moving nprs around at the moment according to the 9s. we've all got itchy fingers waiting for TLT to come round Sleep
