Slater should just retire and move into media. We all know he was a superstar but gotta know when to hang up the boots.

for mine its any keeper in WFB given all the cash options. Ruling out RTS cause everyone will have him, I'm still uneasy with Hayne cause he'll be dreaming too much to play - but you can't resist them all.
I am staying away from Slater though.

He has been training all pre season has he not? started contact training same time as everyone else ...
surely if he is not ready for R1 he won't be good to go all season
He hasn't been doing full contact.
I would love to see him still play out the season to hit the 300 games with the storm.

I currently have 7 but I see that changing.

Well then I hope he gets a crack Round 1, if not then Round 4. He deserves to make the 300 game list.

Also assuming Smith plays every game this year he will surpass Lockyer in total games played.

Can see where you got your info from, recent one suggests he hasn't done contact?

I have no actual source but i think if slater did any "full contact" then it was super limited. The talk of him training died right down which suggests to me he isnt doing much of it

My understanding was it was light contact, or a specialised form of contact for him.

Its such a cruel thing though, to retire because of injury. You know he has it mentally still, just cant keep the body together.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 5
a) Smith and McGuire and King
OR
b) McInnes and Hodgson and Gurgess
With b) Surgess would be captain.
My feeling is b) scores significantly better than a) but committing to two near gun hookers means no cash generation from hookers who turn up in the early season, Garvey-style, and no Smith until Rnd 19. Thoughts?

Players I would like to find room for but don't have the cash:
James Graham
Cameron Munster
JDB/Mannering(whichever I don't run with)
Cleary

I guess this is the risk. The year scott moore graced us with his presense, i was stuck with him for ages.
Last year i had smith and hodgson and watched everyone reel in the cash on garvey.
I guess you cant plan for injuries though

So moeroa is officially playing right edge this season (article on the DT). Does he tempt anyone again?

You can't plan for individual injuries, but you do know that *some* hooker is going to go down and a replacement will make a shit-ton of money over a few weeks. Eg. if Luke got injured, you'd want to jump on Tevaga, if Hodgson goes down than whoever's next in line at the Raiders could generate $200k.
In some ways it's better if it's a hooker you own that goes down. Last year I had Lichaa so it was an easy switch to Garvey plus a big upgrade elsewhere...if I had Smith and Hodgson like you it would have been more difficult to pull trigger.
