don't think he'll get the mins to be honest when Blair and Sims come into the rnd 1 side.

    Blair 50 mins
Sims maybe 40 off the bench
    Glenn 35-40?
    TPJ maybe 30?
Mcguire 65 minimum you would think
Thaiday/Gillett close to 80 a piece, but Thaiday probably has a short rest.

Blair 50, Sims 40, Glenn 35, TPJ 30, Mcguire 65 = 220. Then if you consider Thaiday has a 15 min break that leaves 35 mins for Offa or whoever else takes that last bench spot. TPJ may get less mins to start the year though, but he will get more as the year goes on.

Thanks mate, yup you have convinced me.

I guess the main variable is BT and whether his is on the outer or not? Anyone close to the Warriors know??

Looks like Bunty will get a chance to play a few games of 80 minutes regardless though so if there are question marks over BT, Bunty will have a chance to prove himself. If he takes that chance maybe he does become a long term starter.... Interested to hear the thoughts of people in the know! Risky proposition though huh!

Don't get me wrong. If he gets consistent 80 minutes he could be worth the buy but there's too much uncertainty for that price. Sironen provides the same kind of situation but with more certainty. At least if Bunty gets a few games you are going to get a 'sighter' of how he performs and his position in the team. He's not going to jump huge amounts in cash overnight unless he's suddenly averaging 60.

I don't know if Bodene is on the outer or if that's just rumour but there will be plenty of other guys here who can shed more light on it. Considering he was one of the better players at the back end of last season I would be disappointed as a Warriors supporter to see him shunted out. But if there's behind the scenes machinations that are bringing down the team as a whole I can understand it.

Thanks mate, nice to get some insight off a donkey's fan on forward rotation, might just be a gut call

Been tossing and turning over McGuire and my personal thoughts on him, I just don't think he has the attacking game to turn elite but something screams JTUrbo everytime I look at McGuire and how I didnt think he could elevate his game to that next level but he did with his switch to lock...his DPP is also extremely useful

DPP was the tipping point really. Just couldn't handle not having that flexibility

The TPJ mins are very much a guess, it could be less. The word out of broncos camp is that he will get more mins this year but it could be a slow process.

Got a lot of catching up to do.

Why does everyone have Sione Mat in their teams. He is nearly 300k. What did I miss? Looks a pretty rough community pick to me.

Unless it is Steve Maria we all jumping on Very Happy

    Hey fellas Beer

haha. i actually think he'll be a regular in their 17 this year, chopping and changing between interchange forward and probably get some starts in the centres when there is injuries. probably not all that fantasy relevant but may make 100k, albeit very slowly. isnt the worst option for the final 2rf spot if no other cheapies appear?

i think rnd 1 the tigers pack/bench will go Woods, Hooker, Ava, Sue, Lawrence, ET. Res: Hooker, Grant, Aloiai, MCK. Grant and Ava may swap around though.

Was reading a Renegades article on Cash Cows and came across this comment made on Kelly.
    Brian Kelly, Manly Sea-Eagles, $138,000
One can only hope that Trent Barrett and the Manly training staff aren't stupid enough to pick either of the Wright brothers (they aren't actually brothers) over Brian Kelly.

Well unfortunately that might just appear to be the case. This is the same team that persisted with Walker at 5/8 for far too long after all.

Looks like Maumalo will start round 1 with Vatuvei not looking likely!

Also, after talking with my mate it seems Bunty will start as BT is still having issues with his foot! On the other hand it seems I may have misheard what Cappy said on the radio as Hoffman should be good to go - either that or my mate is wrong!

lifted this from the warriors forum, posted last night, by a fairly respected poster (from what i can gather):

-Ryan Hoffman and Charlie Gubb are clear for Round 1.
-Ben Matulino as we all know is going to miss the first month after his knee surgery.
-Manu Vatuvei is out for an indefinite period but is expected to be back soon. Think his one is a knee injury too but will have to confirm.
-Bodene Thompson has a foot injury but scans havent revealed whats wrong. Possibly a bone playing up but no one knows. Even the experts. He's out for an indefinite period. Its hoped he'll be back by Round 1 but thats looking unlikely until they can figure out whats wrong with him...

EDIT seems to line up with what Rippin' just posted. (maybe same source?)

I had McGuire in my early drafts...
But I have this feeling that his scores will improve gradually troughout the season, I might jump on him when he starts hitting a few 55+ scores in a row

we are all judging him fairly harshly on the basis of one trial match. he still managed 155 metres and 31 tackles. few negatives from him in the match as there were for plenty others but he'll tighten up before the real stuff kicks off. i do think the questions are valid on whether he can find other areas of scoring (eg offloads, tackle breaks). hmm
