Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 10
I had JWH in my squad for a lot of last year and he scored underwhelmingly and watching carefully the problem with him was not so much form as the amount of "big man" hits he put in where the opponent bounced backwards and play was stopped as soon as they were tagged by another defender but they went down as missed tackles to JWH. It's pretty unfair and was certainly annoying that they're worth minus two, but they are and JWH does loads of them and Wallace doesn't.
That said, JWH is still in my team because attacking production could go up so go figure.

Your plight intrigues me. I can't be fucked backtracking, post your team.
HOK: Smith, Brailey (R)
FRF: Wallace, Fifita, Leota, F Kaufusi (R)
2RF: JDB, Mannering, ET, Yates, Winterstein, Sironen (R)
HLF: Moses, Elgey, Lamb (R), Hingano
CTR: Idris, Sione, Talakai, Kelly
WFB: Guth, Hayne, RTS, Cotric, Phythian
I got told my HLF's are shit and my forward bench are all traps which is true but also got told Sione is a trap, Smith is too old and Mannering was doomed to move to the edge.
Half serious, half joking. All confusing
This is my fault and I was joking entirely.
HOK: Most likely starting combo at the moment.
FRF: Wallace I really don't like, he hasn't proven to score well over large amount of minutes and as I said before he is likely to get 40 minutes and he already played 36 minutes last season so it isn't a big improvement. He could get more minutes but I think there are better looking options or better ways to spend the money than on a mid-tier guy who wont improve. Leota looks like a trap. He didn't get more than 20 minutes last season and wasn't scoring huge amounts during his handful of games. I find it hard to see him getting anything more than 20 minutes in a Panthers pack with Tamou, RCG, Latu and Browne all ahead of him.
2RF: Yates is a little bit of a risk but shouldn't be a problem as he won't be in your starting 17.
HLF: So someone mentioned a niggling injury which could cause Moses to start slow. That isn't ideal, as you would want him to have a few massive games make some coin and then swap to someone consistent when he peaks. Perhaps look at other options or monitor his injury.
CTR: No issues.
WFB: I don't like Gutherson because I don't know how Norman will impact on his scores. (I feel it would be negative.) However he could be similar to Milford and rely on a couple of big attacking plays to score his points. Which means he could be inconsistent. (Though he kicks goals so that may help.)
Overall: A couple points in it I don't personally like. However nothing wrong with any of the selections except Leota for mine.

SMat, Talakai, Idris, Kelly
Turbo, RTS, Hayne, Pythian, Suli
* Have added Koro as insurance for Brailey should anything go not according to plan and a cash cow half appears, it helps that I'm a huge fan of his and hope he has a great season at Manly.
Any recommendations on how to use that 100k?
Not a fan of cotric? (suli selected)
No Fifta or Smith but admire your brass bulldog balls.
Can see why you have slected what you have as all have upshot, perhaps sit on the money as without a couple big changes I can't see any real 'upgrades' with 100k

I thought I miss heard it so I rewound it.
He also said dave Taylor is in the process of being approved by the nrl

Does that change anything though? Brailey isn't playing 80 anyway and would be a slow burning cow, adding Seggy means he'll be slower burning sure but I don't think it's a massive concern.

Thoughts?
Smith Brailey
JBrom JWH Faufusi Yates
Gallen Surgess KBrom Smat, Siro Stone
Norman LambElgey Hingano
Trbo Idris Suli Kelly
Guth Hayne RTS Cotric Python
Idea is if Lamb bombs can move Guth up there, Trbo to WFB and SMat to CTR. I know the perception is Hingano is a trap, but I just see him having more games in the future.
Just tossing up between Gallen + Surgess + Lamb vs McGuire + Buhrer + Johnson.....option 1 seems better but I want to get SJ in somehow

If Seggy signs next week surely Seg starts in R3/R4. Can't see them signing Seg and having him play off the bench with Brailey starting?

I doubt the Sharks have some how found the 400k transfer fee for Seggy+his salary by signing Anthony Tupou and Edrick Lee

if it was to be done this week then segeyaro could be playing big mins pretty soon, rendering Brailey useless as a cow.
need to get something solid on this.

DeBelin, Surgess, ET, SMat, Vodlermort, NUFF
ATaylor, Norman, Lamb, Elgey
Kelly, Idris, Moga/Talakai, Lawton
RTS, Hayne, Dugan, Phythian, Cotric
Because I love you.
HOK: Most common pairing here.
FRF: I am not a fan of Wallace when you could have someone like JWH. However I and others have touched on that a lot recently.
2RF: Who is he who must not be named. Sironen or Aubbuson? Either way solid 2RF.
HLF: Taylor could definitely go massive to start the year with Roberts playing from HOK. He should do a large amount of kicking.
CTR: I personally would start Talakai, but 4 cheapies is a common theme around here.
WFB: Dugan has been talked up for several pages. Aside from that he could be a decent pick as long as you are confident in him.
Overall: I have no faith in Wallace. That is the only issue in this team.

Ennis said last night that the Sharks want Brailey to play 80 and he will do it sometime this year.

Cheers for the input Booze, have Stones in the second row with Yates so kinda hedging there.
Im not gonna win the comp so feel like taking a risk.
Also Cotric and Suli have been in and out. Cotric a good pick?

Even if Seggy joins Sharks he probably plays off the bench for the first couple of weeks anyway. If he does then with price rises and falls you'll probably be able to near enough straight swap Seggy and Brailey when he hits the starting 13.
In other words, I'm putting my hands over my ears.
