So the pretenders get their arses handed to them two weeks in a row and the solution is to sack the coach ? Over rated and over hyped. It's about time the gang of four started to deliver on the field.

One intercept try and 80 points conceded in 2 games is disgusting. It's obvious that he doesn't have the support of the players, please don't let it be Payten though.

Re: Wests Tigers 2017 Premiers
Cleary is the best guy not currently coaching in the NRL at the moment IMO, but if rumours are true about Des not being safe at Canterbury, then IMO the best fit for everyone would be Des instilling some hard love at the Tigers, and Cleary taking a pretty good gig at the Bulldogs.
Whether it's the coaches fault or not, the Dogs seem to have stagnated a bit in the last year or two and while they have made the finals, haven't really looked like going to deep into September or October (even when they made the GF in 2014, they were at long odds to do that leading in to the final series - which is obviously a credit to them). A change in coach might just give that little tweak necessary to go the next step. The tigers desperately need a coach who will be the boss rather than the players, and Des could well be the guy who can do that.
It the coaching merry-go round is to be extended, then I think JT is a better coach than Trent Barrett, but I think Barrett has bought himself a bit of time.

While I don't think they will get the job the Walker brothers coaching style would actually suit the Tigers style of play.

Re: Wests Tigers 2017 Premiers
I thought what the Walker boys did with Ipswich was fantastic and genius thinking. I get the feeling that radical game plan worked with the right players in lower leagues, especially given they had a much smaller budget than some of the NRL affiliated club, but at the NRL level, I think the players would be too good across the board for it to work.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see someone give it a try, but I don't think any organisation in the NRL has the balls to try it. I definitely wouldn't want them to try it at the Broncos.
Having said that, the Walker boys developed and implemented a radical game plan that worked for Ipswich. Maybe they're good enough to think of a different radical plan that could work with a NRL club.

I actually think they were successful because they got the balance right between being too loose and too structured.
Applying it at the NRL might need a little tweaking towards more structure but I think some of the idea's, combined with adequate structure, would definitely work.
And let's face it, any risk of the Tigers becoming an on field shambles would pale in significance to the off field debacle they are.

Unlikely Bren, they spell and pronounce their names differently
(actually there are 2 Andrew Websters, but they are different people, and I like Simpsons jokes)

Tigers must have just realised they only had one head coach on their payroll. In line with their business model, they've now rectified that immediately and are back to their usual business practice.

No, no I think you are mistaken. Andrew Webster and Andrew Webster spell their names the same.

What do we do if the new coach is a fan of Robbie Farah?

Re: Wests Tigers 2017 Premiers
Surely the Robbie Farah coach has left the station. Souths have him for 2017 & 2018 & aren't going to release a state of origin halfback who they're only paying a couple of hundred thousand for, even if he does end up a bench player. I'm not sure if the Tigers are paying anything of his 2018 salary (pretty sure the rumour was the Tigers were contributing $750K for 2017 only), but by that stage he's 34, so even if the Rabbits wanted to off-load him if he no longer is of first grade standard anymore, I doubt anyone would want a 34 year old reserve grader.
On another note, with the talk of the "Big 4" not wanting the coach, is anyone else amazed Luke Brooks, and to a lesser extent Mitchell Moses are thought of being quality enough to have any say in who the coach is? Moses delivered on his potential last year, but deadset Brookes is hopeless. With their current roster I'd have Jeff Robson at halfback before I had Luke Brookes. After watching Josh McCrone's kicking game in the last 15 minutes yesterday, he's the only halfback in the comp I consider worse than Brookes, but at least no-one is pretending McCrone is part of a Big Anything.
Before their match (or maybe half-time), ABC radio were talking about how many missed tackles Moses, Brookes, Naiqama and Tedesco had. They were all roughly 2.5/match or more. I can excuse Teddy as plenty of those would have been trying in vain to cover a miss from the other 3, but you just can't consistently win with your outside backs missing that many tackles.
*Edit* - Luke Brooks is that shit I don't even know if his surname is spelt with an E or not.

Keep him on the books till Robbie returns in 2019 as the Corporate Ambassador.
